Farms to Visit in Utah this Fall:
The Ultimate Guide

Hello neighbors!

It's that time of year again, where the leaves start turning brilliant hues of gold and red, the air gets crisper, and we get that undeniable urge to sip on some apple cider. And what better way to embrace the season than visiting some of our delightful local farms? Whether you're looking for a picturesque setting for family photos, or just a fun afternoon with the kids, Utah has some gems waiting for you. Based on recommendations from TripAdvisor, we've compiled a list of farms to visit this fall:

1. Wheeler Historic Farm, Salt Lake City: A 19th-century gem, this farm provides a mix of both historic exhibits and contemporary attractions. Beyond the usual petting zoo and cow-milking, Wheeler Historic Farm also showcases old farm machinery and beautiful nature trails.

2. Rowley's Red Barn, Santaquin: Famous for its apple orchards and vibrant pumpkin patches, it’s the perfect place to enjoy freshly-pressed apple cider. And don't forget to stop by their on-site store for homemade ice creams and delightful apple donuts.

3. Hee Haw Farms, Pleasant Grove: An ultimate family destination, this farm offers everything from hayrides and corn mazes to pumpkin patches and petting zoos. Their night-time haunted hayrides are a hit for those looking for a spookier experience.

4. Cross E Ranch, Salt Lake City: A family-run farm that offers an amazing fall festival experience. Navigate their corn maze, pick your perfect pumpkin, and wind down with a delicious campfire dinner.

5. Jensen Farms, Syracuse: An underrated gem! Known for its incredible fresh produce, it's an idyllic location for those looking for a quieter farm experience. Don't forget to pick up some of their renowned corn and tomatoes!

6. Black Island Farms, Syracuse: Claiming to be Utah’s largest corn maze, this farm doesn't disappoint when it comes to fall festivities. Beyond the maze, there's a pumpkin patch, hayrides, and even a 'Courtyard' with slides, animals, and tire playgrounds for kids.

 Pro Tips:

- Weekdays are less crowded! If you can sneak away on a weekday, you'll likely enjoy shorter lines and a more relaxed experience.

- Dress in layers. Utah's weather can be unpredictable in the fall. And don't forget those comfy shoes.

- Bring cash. While many farms have shifted to accepting cards, some smaller activities or food vendors on-site might be cash only.

This fall, immerse yourself in the rustic charm of Utah's countryside. Support our local farmers, create lasting memories, and cherish the beauty of the season.

It’s National Taco Day – October 4, 2023

Celebrate National Taco Day on October 4th, a day that packs all the taco goodness you love into one intensified fiesta, like the popular "Taco Tuesdays" at local restaurants. Interestingly, the phrase "Taco Tuesday" was trademarked nationwide in 1989 by Taco John's, a fast-food chain from Wyoming, except in New Jersey, where it was already claimed by Gregory's Restaurant & Bar in 1982.

But don't worry about the name – on National Taco Day, just grab tortillas and fill them to your heart's content with classics like carne asada, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and sour cream or explore exotic options like fish, chorizo, and even tongue. The word "taco" may originate from the Spanish "ataco," meaning "to stuff," which perfectly describes this delightful, stuffed treat.
