Centerville Welcomes New Youth City Council

The city of Centerville has added fresh faces to its Youth City Council, and the future is looking brighter than ever. At the July 18 city council meeting, City Recorder Jennifer Robison proudly administered the oath of office to 13 new youth council members, marking the beginning of an exciting journey of service and community involvement.
Guiding and supporting this enthusiastic group are their trusted advisors, Haley Turner, community services manager, and Administrative Services Director Bryce King.
Let's give a warm welcome to the new members of the Centerville Youth City Council: Ava Wright, Bohan Guo, Brinley Carr, Cara Vogrinec, Charles Summerhays, Grace Kunzler, Izabella Anderson, Kate Mullins, Lola Stephens, London Hymas, Lynlee Hernandez, Evelyn Jones, and Caleb Wallis. And joining this remarkable group as the new youth council mayor is Kiera Arnold.
But the spirit of continuity and dedication also prevails, with several returning youth council members: Arnold, Audrey Howell, Bridgette Lowe, Cade Creamer, Caleb Wallis, Ella Stevens, Emeline Howell, Evelyn Jones, Evelyn Waymet, Ingrid Tea, Izabella Anderson, Lauren Barnum, Maverick Strafford, and Talmage Bunting. They form the bedrock of experience and commitment within the council.
Mayor Clark Wilkinson couldn't hide his gratitude for the youth council's unwavering commitment to serve the community. He acknowledged the support they've provided over the years and expressed excitement about the fresh faces and new energy joining their ranks.
As Mayor Wilkinson aptly put it, "We look forward to seeing your growth and your help that you give the city and all you do."
The council actively engages in community events, service projects, and even interacts with legislators. Their commitment to service is a testament to their dedication to Centerville.

Bountiful's Ambitious Trail Expansion Promises Outdoor Adventure for All
Bountiful, Utah, famous for its stunning trails, is expanding its trail network to ease overcrowding. The Trails Master Plan, funded by $2 million in 2020 and a $500,000 grant in 2021, includes directional trails and a 12-mile loop for hikers. Trail signage will indicate difficulty levels. Specific areas for horses, Jeeps, and ATVs are planned, with environmental considerations. A trailhead at North Canyon's top will improve access. This project spans 22 miles of trails across six areas, some opening in 2024, with coordinated signage. Bountiful's lush mountain terrain is a well-kept secret, and this project aims to spread the joy while preserving it for future generations.
