Concern Grows for Missing Woman From Bountiful

Officials are searching for a missing and endangered 33-year-old woman from Bountiful. Bobbi Jo Larose, a 33-year-old woman, was last seen on September 26, and we're deeply concerned about her well-being.

Bobbi Jo stands at 5'5" and weighs 140lbs, with beautiful brown hair and matching brown eyes.

If you have any information that could help us locate Bobbi Jo Larose, please don't hesitate to reach out to the police at (801) 298-6000, and reference case number 20-0247. Every piece of information, no matter how small, can make a significant difference.

Brief Lockdown at South Davis Jr. High

Wednesday afternoon, South Davis Jr. High School briefly initiated a lockdown in response to a report concerning a student possibly having a firearm. Bountiful Police Department’s response was swift, and after thorough investigation, it was determined that the report was false.

As of now, there is no additional information to provide. The safety of the students remained top priority. The Bountiful Police Department will keep us updated on any developments.

Friendly Reminder: West Davis Corridor Trail Still Off-Limits for Walks

Kaysville resident Claire Allred mistakenly thought the West Davis Corridor walking path was open to the public and received a court summons after using it. Despite seeing some locals use it and getting mixed messages from police, UDOT confirms the path is still under construction and off-limits. Safety issues, including trespassing and unauthorized vehicles, have led to reinforced safety protocols. UDOT's official opening is anticipated either later this year or in 2024. Safety in construction zones is emphasized.

Exciting News: Davis County launching a Homeownership Assistance Program

Davis County is launching a Homeownership Assistance Program to help low-to-moderate-income families purchase homes. The program offers loans up to $50,000 for down payments, principal reduction, or securing better interest rates. The funding comes from community development grants and the American Rescue Plan Act, totaling almost $1.8 million. Unlike past initiatives offering $5,000-$10,000, this program aims to address the current median home value of $489,000. The loans require no payments but will have a 1% interest added upon selling or refinancing. This initiative starts on Oct. 16 with regular fund releases. Guidelines and application details are available on the county's website.

It’s National Noodle Day Today
October 6, 2023

National Noodle Day is on October 6 and we are getting ready to celebrate by doing the best thing possible with noodles… eating them! Can you believe that noodles have been around for over 4,000 years? Noodles are popular all over the world and range in shape from flat, to round, to twisted, to sheets, to tubes, and many more. They can be made from rice, buckwheat, wheat, with or without eggs and even now from zucchini.
