⚖️ Davis County Weighs $172M Justice Center — and Bountiful Courthouse Could Close

Davis County is considering a major new justice center in Farmington that would bring court operations currently spread across Farmington, Bountiful and Layton together in one location.

The proposed 179,296-square-foot facility would be built at the existing Farmington justice complex and would also house the Davis County Attorney’s Office. The estimated total project cost is $172.1 million, with Davis County’s portion currently estimated at about $29.2 million through a county bond.

For South Davis residents, one of the biggest changes would be the closure of the existing Bountiful courthouse if the project moves forward.

County officials say the three existing courthouse locations have security, accessibility and capacity concerns. For now, this remains a proposal—the County Commission heard the presentation Sept. 1, but no final approval has been given. 👉 Read More

🐾 BOUNTIFUL’S PUP OF THE WEEK brought to you by Scenthound Bountiful

🌟 Meet Roo — formally known as Nancy D. Roo! 🕵️‍♀️🐶

Her name was inspired by Nancy Drew because she’s always investigating, sniffing out clues, and making sure she knows exactly what’s going on.

Roo is a total people pup who loves making new friends, chasing squirrels, hanging out with her dog buddies Minj and Ozzie, and showing off her tricks — including playing dead, army crawling, and batting those long eyelashes for treats. 😂

She also loves wearing her bow-collar “necklaces” and is rarely seen without one. And when Roo runs, she hops so much that people often think she was named after a kangaroo! 🦘

With her curiosity, charm, and big personality, Roo keeps everyone smiling. Congratulations, Roo — our Bountiful Pup of the Week! 💙🐾

😊 ONE FOR THE ROAD

🔵 A Little Creativity for International Dot Day

Today is International Dot Day, inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot and the simple idea that creativity can start with one tiny mark.

So here’s your completely unofficial Bountiful Buzz challenge for the day: make your mark somewhere. Draw something, try something new, start the project you’ve been putting off—or hand the kids a piece of paper and see what they can create from one little dot. 🎨

No local promotion attached. Just a good excuse to be a little creative today.

That’s the Buzz for today! 🐝

Thanks for starting your morning with me. Have a great day, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow!

— Brenda 💛
