7-Year-Old Drives Family Car 10 Miles to Ogden with 5-Year-Old Passenger

A 7-year-old boy drove a family car from Clearfield to Ogden with a 5-year-old passenger, covering nearly 10 miles before the vehicle was disabled after hitting a parking strip. Police opted not to pursue due to safety concerns. Both children were found unharmed, and no charges will be filed.

With a lineup designed to honor the spirit and legacy of these musical giants, Divas Live in Concert offers a vibrant showcase of talent and timeless hits. Tickets are available soon through the On Pitch Performing Arts Center’s website, but seating is limited for this one-night-only celebration of diva greatness.

Two South Davis Firefighters Complete Rigorous Paramedic Training Program

Two South Davis Metro firefighters, Ashten Buhler and Ibrahim Bouaziz, have graduated from Weber State University's paramedic program after completing over 1,200 hours of advanced training. Their education included lectures, skill labs, clinical work, and field internships, enhancing their ability to provide advanced emergency care in the community.

Meet the "Speedy Spud": Runner to Tackle Salt Lake City Marathon in Potato Costume

Engineer and runner Ainsley Chapman will race in the Salt Lake City Marathon dressed as the "Speedy Spud," promoting potato nutrition as part of a nationwide campaign. The marathon takes place April 26, with Chapman representing potato farmers in a full potato costume.

Hosting a student isn’t just about offering a place to stay — it’s about sharing cultures, creating friendships, and seeing the world through fresh eyes, all without leaving your home! These students are eager to experience American life, improve their English, and build lasting connections. Many families who’ve hosted before say it’s one of the most rewarding experiences they’ve had — full of fun conversations, shared meals, and new perspectives.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We Still Need 15 Homes!
We have about 15 students who still need a welcoming place to stay — and we’d love to have all spots filled by the end of this month! If you’ve ever thought about hosting, now’s the perfect time to jump in.

🚍 A Little About the Program:

• The students will attend classes at the University of Utah every weekday, starting at 9 AM.

• They'll use public transportation (bus or Trax—specifically Route 455) to get to and from campus. No need for you to drive them!

• After afternoon activities, they’ll be home in time for dinner, giving you a chance to share your day and enjoy some cross-cultural conversation.

💲 Host Family Stipend:
Families will receive $28.57 per student per night as a stipend. Students can share a room, but each will need their own bed (no air mattresses or cots, especially for the boys).
