Specialized Grief Support Programs Available in Bountiful

A Bountiful therapist is organizing specialized grief support groups to help residents navigate the challenging emotions following the death of a loved one. Two 10-week programs will be held at a local therapy clinic, each tailored to address unique aspects of grief. One group is open to individuals coping with the loss of a loved one from any type of death, while the other is specifically for those grieving after a suicide.

In addition, a free monthly support group is being offered for mothers who have experienced the loss of a child at any age. This group, facilitated by a colleague, aims to provide a compassionate space for moms to connect and share their experiences.

These gatherings are designed to provide emotional support, coping strategies, and a sense of community for participants. Residents interested in joining can reach out directly to the therapist for more details or to register.

Relive the 80s at Bountiful’s Annual Adult Prom: Fun and Fundraising Combined

Relive the magic of prom with a nostalgic twist as the Bountiful Elk’s Lodge hosts its annual adult prom, this year with an exciting 80s theme. The event promises a night of dancing, food, and fun for attendees aged 18 and older, while providing the opportunity to support important community causes.

The prom will take place at the Elk’s Lodge, featuring a lively atmosphere that celebrates the vibrant fashion and music of the 1980s. Guests can groove to classic hits, enjoy delicious food and drinks, and soak up the camaraderie of this one-of-a-kind event. Admission is $20 per person, with payments accepted via cash or Venmo. Attendees must be 18 or older to join the event, and those 21 and older can partake in the available alcoholic beverages.

Proceeds from the prom will directly benefit the Elk’s Lodge’s nonprofit initiatives, which include supporting veterans, local seniors, youth programs, and other community outreach efforts. Organizers hope the evening will draw a large crowd, making a meaningful impact while offering a memorable experience for all who attend.

Friends and families are encouraged to spread the word and join in the celebration. The event promises to be a vibrant evening of nostalgia, community spirit, and giving back.

Counterfeit Cash Discovered at Layton Walmart, Police Advise Vigilance

Layton police are alerting the public after counterfeit bills were discovered at a local Walmart. Authorities received reports of several fake $100 bills being circulated at the store, leading to concerns about the spread of counterfeit currency in the area.

According to police, the fake bills were passed off to employees during transactions. The counterfeit money was described as being of poor quality, with noticeable differences from real currency, including improper watermarks and other telltale signs of fraud.

Authorities are urging the community to be vigilant when handling cash, particularly when making purchases in local stores. They recommend checking bills carefully for features such as security strips, watermarks, and other distinguishing marks that help identify legitimate currency.

The Layton Police Department is working with Walmart officials to investigate the source of the counterfeit money and has called on the public to report any suspicious activity or similar incidents.
