After moving to Utah and struggling with loneliness, Kendall turned her love for books and marketing background into something truly special. Quick Response Contains Mobile Home Fire in North Salt Lake

A mobile home fire in the Camelot subdivision of North Salt Lake drew a swift response from South Davis Metro Fire crews late Tuesday morning. Emergency dispatchers received multiple 911 calls at 10:55 a.m., with reports of heavy smoke visible from the structure.

The first fire unit on scene encountered smoke pouring from all sides of the mobile home and flagged concerns about nearby structures being at risk. Despite initial uncertainty about whether anyone was inside, firefighters quickly conducted a thorough search and confirmed that the home was unoccupied.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control within just 11 minutes, successfully preventing it from spreading to adjacent homes. No injuries were reported, and no surrounding properties sustained damage. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

🦔 Meet Blake: The Baby Porcupine Melting Hearts at Utah's Hogle Zoo 💛

Hold onto your hearts, Utah—there’s a new reason to visit Hogle Zoo, and he’s covered in quills and pure cuteness. Say hello to Blake, the zoo’s newest porcupette (yes, that’s the officially adorable term for a baby porcupine)!

Born recently and already stealing the spotlight, Blake has visitors grinning from ear to ear—and it’s not hard to see why. With his spiky hairdo and sweet little snout, Blake looks like he wandered straight out of a woodland fairytale and into our hearts.

The zoo playfully warned guests that seeing Blake may result in “uncontrollable squealing, excessive smiling, and immediate plans to visit the zoo.” (Guilty. 🧡)

If you're looking for a reason to get outside, grab the kids, or simply boost your mood—Blake is ready to oblige. Just don’t be surprised if you start planning your next visit before you even leave.

Skate Into Summer: Free Rentals for Early Birds at South Davis Rec Center Ice Night

The South Davis Recreation Center is hosting an ice skating event this Thursday, June 5 from 7–9 PM. The first 50 attendees will receive free skate rentals. With music, a fun atmosphere, and a chance to cool off, it's a unique summer activity for all ages.

Black Bear Sighted in Stansbury Park; Wildlife Officials Set Trap

A black bear was sighted in Stansbury Park, Tooele County, prompting the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources to set a trap in a local backyard. Though the bear hasn't been caught yet, officials continue their efforts. The DWR reminds residents that all of Utah is bear country and urges caution with trash, pet food, and bird feeders. They advise standing your ground and using bear spray if confronted.
