🍰 Sweet Cake Bake Shop –
Where Gluten-Free Dreams Come True

Tucked along Main Street in Bountiful, Sweet Cake Bake Shop isn’t just a bakery—it’s a place where passion, perseverance, and purpose come together in the most delicious way.
Owner Ali Regan has spent nearly 17 years turning what she calls her “lemonade stand”—making the best out of life’s challenges—into a beloved local staple. What began in her home kitchen after a life-changing Celiac Disease diagnosis has grown into a thriving, from-scratch bakery serving up over 400 gluten-free (and many vegan) menu items to the community she calls home.
💛 A Story That Started With Healing
After being diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2003, Ali had to completely rethink how she approached food. With very few quality gluten-free options available at the time, she set out to create her own—developing custom flour blends that not only tasted better, but supported her health.
What started as baking for her family turned into years of experimenting, refining, and eventually opening her first storefront in 2009. Today, Sweet Cake Bake Shop has its forever home in Bountiful, where Ali continues to create with the same heart and intention that started it all.
✨ What Makes Sweet Cake So Special
This isn’t your average bakery.
Everything at Sweet Cake is made 100% from scratch—from their signature gluten-free flour blends to their jams, caramel, pastry cream, and more. Their blends (like Master Mix and Master Lite) are thoughtfully crafted with ingredients like almond and coconut flour, offering a higher-protein, more balanced alternative to traditional gluten-free options.
But beyond the ingredients, it’s the experience.
Sweet Cake Bake Shop has become a place of comfort, celebration, and connection—especially for those navigating food sensitivities. It’s where customers can walk in and finally feel like everything is safe, delicious, and made just for them.
☕️ What’s New & Buzzing
There’s a lot happening at Sweet Cake right now—and it’s all worth getting excited about:

🚀 Growing Beyond the Bakery
Sweet Cake is expanding into retail distribution, making it easier than ever to enjoy their products at home. Their popular mixes—including pancake, brownie, and chocolate chip cookie—are now available for purchase.
Coming soon:
🥐 Frozen bake-at-home items like cinnamon rolls, orange rolls, and dinner rolls

⚠️ Fatal crash in Fruit Heights
The Quick Summary: A man in his 40s died early Sunday, March 22, after his vehicle hit a retaining wall near the 200 North exit and Mountain Road in Fruit Heights, according to the Davis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say the crash happened around 2:30 a.m., and the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when first responders arrived. The cause is still under investigation. 👉 Read More
Why It Matters: While this happened outside the Buzz’s core NSL-to-Farmington corridor, it is a sobering public safety reminder for Davis County drivers about high-speed overnight crashes.

🚨 New Emergency Center Opens in Farmington
The Davis County Sheriff’s Office is opening a brand-new Emergency Operations Center (EOC) designed to coordinate response efforts during emergencies and major events. The facility will also support training and community preparedness as the county continues to grow. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house is set for Friday, March 27 at 1 p.m. in Farmington.
Why It Matters: This new hub means faster, more organized emergency response and better protection for South Davis County residents when it counts.

🐾 Lost Dog Found in Centerville
Centerville Police found a dog near 400 West and are working to locate its owner. The dog has since been transferred to Davis County Animal Control while officers returned to duty. Community members have shared concern for the dog’s condition and are already offering help, including food and foster care—anyone with information is asked to call dispatch at 801-298-6000.
Why It Matters: This is a reminder to keep pets tagged and chipped—and shows how quickly the community steps up to help animals in need.

🥎 Big Wins for Bountiful & Tough Day for Woods Cross
It was a strong showing for local softball as Bountiful rolled past Green Canyon 12–2 behind a 15-hit performance and a solid outing from pitcher Dylan Carpenter. Key bats included Brenna Wentworth, Peyton Orchard, and McKinley Duryea, helping fuel the Redhawks’ offense. Meanwhile, Woods Cross struggled on the road, falling to Deseret Peak 16–1 as the Wildcats managed just three hits in the matchup.
Why It Matters: Early-season results like these help set the tone for region play, with Bountiful gaining momentum and Woods Cross looking to bounce back.
