Centerville Police K-9 Reyna Retires After 9 Years of Service
The Centerville Police Department is celebrating the retirement of K-9 Reyna after nine years of dedicated service protecting the community. In announcing her retirement, the department thanked Reyna for her bravery, loyalty, and unwavering commitment alongside her handler. Now, the veteran police dog is trading patrols for a well-earned retirement filled with couch time and plenty of treats.
K-9 teams play a vital role in public safety, and Reyna's years of service reflect the dedication of the officers and police dogs who help keep South Davis County safe. 👉 See Post
🚣 Jordan River Paddle Returns to North Salt Lake
Registration opens August 1 for North Salt Lake's 13th Annual Jordan River Paddle, part of the Get to the River Festival. The family-friendly event takes paddlers on a scenic 3-mile stretch of the Jordan River from Salt Lake City's Riverview Boat Ramp to Porter's Landing in North Salt Lake on September 12, 2026, with the paddle beginning at 8:30 a.m. Free canoes are available in limited quantities with advance reservations, or participants can bring their own watercraft.
This is one of North Salt Lake's signature outdoor events, giving residents a unique opportunity to enjoy the Jordan River while celebrating local recreation and conservation. 👉 Learn More or Register Here
🧺 Free Community Closet Helps Families Get Ready for School
Families can pick up free back-to-school clothing, shoes, and bedding during the Community Closet on Saturday, August 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Bountiful High School Auxiliary Gym. New socks and underwear will be available for school-age children while supplies last, and no ID or income verification is required. Organizers say everyone with a need is welcome, and all items are donated by the community for the community.
This annual event helps local families stretch their back-to-school budgets by providing essential clothing and household items at no cost. 👉 See Post
🚧 Airport Route Closures Begin This Week on I-215
Drivers should plan for major delays starting Tuesday at 8 p.m. as UDOT closes three northbound I-215 off-ramps for about five weeks. The closures include the main connection from northbound I-215 to westbound I-80 toward Salt Lake City International Airport, as well as the ramps to eastbound I-80 and Redwood Road. The Redwood Road ramp to northbound I-215 also remains closed through next July as the bridge replacement project continues.
South Davis County commuters and anyone heading to the airport should allow extra travel time and plan alternate routes through Labor Day.

Jade is more than just a beloved companion—she's a dedicated service dog who takes her job very seriously. Her mission is keeping track of her boys and making sure everyone is exactly where they should be. Whether they're playing outside or heading off on an adventure, Jade is always close by, watching over her favorite humans.
When she's off duty, Jade loves chasing her ball, spending time outdoors with her boys, and hanging out with her best pal, Sadie. And if there are snacks involved, she's all in—especially if they're chicken or tomatoes!
Thank you, Jade, for being such a loyal helper, loving friend, and all-around amazing girl. We're so happy you're part of the Scenthound family.

Future Braves cheerleaders are invited to join the Bountiful High cheer squad for the ultimate Mini Cheer experience! Participants will attend cheer clinics on August 5–6, then perform and cheer at the August 7 football game. Campers will learn crowd-leading skills, perform a fun dance with poms, cheer alongside the BHS team, and take the field for a halftime performance.
