Reminder: Please Don’t Use School Dumpsters for Personal Trash

The Bountiful City Police Department is asking residents to stop using the dumpsters at Boulton Elementary for household or yard waste. These dumpsters are on private property and meant only for school use.

Dumping there without permission is not only illegal but also adds cleanup costs for the school. If you have extra trash or bulky items, please use your regular garbage service or take them to the landfill.

Before using any dumpster, ask yourself: Is it on private property? If so, make sure to get permission from the owner. And remember, not everything you see on social media is accurate—always double-check.

Orchard Drive Arctic Circle Reopens with New Building in Bountiful

After an eight-month closure, the Arctic Circle restaurant on Orchard Drive in Bountiful is making a much-anticipated return. The eatery now boasts a brand-new, modern building complete with indoor plumbing and a fresh look. The team is eager to welcome customers back to the revamped location. The official grand opening is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25th, and marks a fresh chapter for this familiar local spot.

Scam Calls Threaten Immigration Raid at Annie’s Cafe in Bountiful

Annie’s Cafe in Bountiful, Utah, was left short-staffed Tuesday after threatening scam calls targeted the restaurant. The caller, falsely claiming to be with local police and immigration enforcement, demanded information about Latino employees and threatened to forcibly remove them if the owner didn’t comply.

Owner Annie Bennett, who immigrated from Argentina and opened the cafe in 2019, said the threats began over the weekend and were repeated on Monday. The intimidation left staff fearful, with several choosing not to come to work.

Bountiful Police believe the calls were part of a spoofing scam—where scammers mask their number to appear as a legitimate agency. Homeland Security Investigations reissued a national warning this month about such impersonation schemes, urging the public not to share personal information over the phone and to verify suspicious calls directly with the agency involved.

Police responded quickly by increasing patrols around Annie’s Cafe. Bennett hopes her experience will raise awareness and protect others from similar threats.
