Enjoy All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti While Supporting Local Scouts on March 8

Bountiful Scout Troop 220 is inviting the community to enjoy a night of delicious food and friendly bidding at its annual All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction. The event will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, 276 E. 1700 S., Bountiful.

Attendees can feast on unlimited spaghetti while supporting the local Scout troop’s activities and programs. Admission is $10 for adults (ages 12 and up) and $5 for children (ages 4-11). Tickets are available for purchase both online through the Troop 220 website and at the door.

This year, the silent auction will be held entirely online, allowing supporters to bid from anywhere. Winners do not need to be present to claim their items, and purchases will be delivered within a 15-mile radius of Bountiful.

Proceeds from the event will help fund outdoor adventures, leadership training, and community service projects for the Scouts. Organizers encourage residents to attend, enjoy a hearty meal, and take part in the auction to support the troop’s mission.

Davis School District Meets Federal Mandate to Address Racial Discrimination

The Davis School District has fulfilled the requirements of a federal settlement aimed at addressing racial discrimination issues. Following a DOJ investigation in 2021 that found severe racial harassment, the district implemented policy changes, improved training, and strengthened reporting systems. The DOJ confirmed compliance but emphasized the need for ongoing commitment to ensuring an inclusive school environment.

Suspect in Salt Lake City Bank Robbery Caught—Investigators Eye Other Cases

Salt Lake City police have arrested a 57-year-old man in connection with a recent bank robbery and believe he may be responsible for at least two other similar crimes in the area.

Dennis Lindsay Dyches was taken into custody on Tuesday and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of robbery. Authorities linked him to a Feb. 27 incident at America First Credit Union on Foothill Drive, where a suspect handed a teller a note demanding money.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect leaving in a black SUV. Police later located the vehicle and identified Dyches as the man involved. Following his arrest, officers searched his home and reportedly found stolen cash in his wallet.

Investigators are now looking into Dyches’ possible connection to other unsolved bank robberies in Salt Lake County.
