Well, we've made it to Friday, and our little corner of Utah has plenty worth celebrating this week!

From Bountiful's big football championship to an incredible milestone at Woods Cross High, our local students are giving us plenty of reasons to cheer. We've also got a fun family-owned fall discovery, some business news, and a few upcoming community happenings to put on your calendar.

And can you believe we're already halfway through October? The pumpkins are out, the leaves are changing, and somehow the holidays are sneaking up on us again. I'm not sure who keeps pressing the fast-forward button, but I'd like a word with them! 😂

🎓 Woods Cross High Celebrates 100% Graduation Rate!

Woods Cross High School is celebrating a major milestone! The school achieved a 100% graduation rate among English-language learners, up from 92%. Approximately $270,000 in School LAND Trust funding helped provide after-school tutoring, summer credit recovery, and student advocates to keep students on track. 👉 Read More

🎃 Pumpkins, Dragons & Three Generations of Gardening in Bountiful!

Eric Engh Gardens, located near Vintage Cove on 200 West in Bountiful, is bringing fall fun to the neighborhood! Run by Eric Engh and his daughter Tracy, the family garden center features more than 30 pumpkin varieties, festive decorations, a colorful dragon mural, and animatronics. Their gardening legacy goes back three generations to Eric's grandfather, known as "Hank the Petunia King."

🎃 Stop by for a visit! Bring the family, pick out your favorite pumpkins, and enjoy a little fall magic right here in Bountiful! Open daily in October from 8 AM–8 PM. Christmas trees arrive after Halloween!

🏪 New Convenience Store Proposed for Centerville!

A new convenience store called Papa Nics could be coming to 95 N. Main Street in Centerville! The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 28, at 7 PM at Centerville City Hall to review the conditional use permit. Nothing has been approved yet, and residents are welcome to attend, learn more, and share their input.

🏈 Bountiful Redhawks Crowned Region 6 Champions!

The Bountiful Redhawks wrapped up their regular season Wednesday night with a 35–0 shutout against Olympus, claiming the Region 6 championship! Quarterback Hudson Malmrose threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns, while the defense held Olympus to fewer than 50 total yards. Bountiful finished undefeated in region play (5–0) and heads into the 5A state playoffs with a 7–2 record.
