๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Help West Bountiful Honor Its Veterans

Know a veteran who lives in West Bountiful? The city is collecting names for veteran appreciation signs to recognize neighbors who have served in the military.

The recognition is part of West Bountifulโ€™s America 250 celebration. Submit a veteranโ€™s name by Friday, October 30, to have a sign placed in their honor.

๐ŸŒ† North Salt Lake Reviews Future of Nights Out

The future of North Salt Lakeโ€™s Nights Out community celebrations is under review, with the events on hold while city leaders consider how they should move forward.

According to FOX 13, the discussion centers on how the city approves and supports resident-proposed events. Mayor Brian Horrocks told the station that the city attorney is reviewing the issue.

The series has included Pride Night, Juneteenth and Latino Heritage celebrations. Residents interviewed by FOX 13 described the gatherings as a way to connect with neighbors, and a resident-led petition is calling for them to continue.

A permanent cancellation has not been confirmed.

๐ŸŒŸ From One Farmington Familyโ€™s Mission Experience to a Brand-New Way to Preserve the Journey

When Scott Talbot and his wife began preparing to send their 18-year-old son on an LDS mission to the Ivory Coast, they started thinking about something many missionary families can relate to:

What happens to all those weekly emails, photos, stories, and experiences after two years?

Some stay buried in an inbox. Photos end up scattered across phones and group messages. And before long, some pretty meaningful pieces of the journey can be hard to find.

That question inspired this Farmington family to create Follow My Mission, a brand-new local business launched in September 2026.

๐Ÿ’Œ From Weekly Email to Mission Journal โ€” Automatically

Follow My Mission takes a missionaryโ€™s regular weekly emails and automatically turns them into a private, beautifully organized online mission journal.

And the best part? The missionary doesnโ€™t have to do anything extra.

Thereโ€™s no new app to manage, blog to update, or additional journaling assignment to squeeze into an already busy preparation day. Missionaries simply send their regular email to a personalized email address, and Follow My Mission organizes the letter and photos into their journal.

Family and friends can follow along from home, look back through previous entries, and enjoy the photos and stories all in one place. Families with more than one missionary can even follow multiple missions through a single account.

๐Ÿ“– Memories That Last Beyond the Mission

For the Talbots, this was about more than making weekly emails easier to share. They wanted to preserve a chapter of their sonโ€™s life their family would treasure long after he returned home.

The online journal remains available after the mission ends, and families can also turn the completed journal into a professionally printed mission photo book โ€” transforming two years of letters, photos, people, places, and experiences into one lasting keepsake.

What began as a solution for their own family quickly became something Scott and his wife realized could help missionary families throughout Davis County and beyond.

โ€œOur goal is simple: make it easier for families to stay connected during a mission and preserve the stories and experiences that might otherwise get lost in an email inbox.โ€

๐Ÿก Born Right Here in Farmington

Follow My Mission may be brand new, but its roots are close to home. The family-owned business is based right here in Farmington and was created from an experience the Talbots are living themselves right now.

As they grow, they hope to connect with other local businesses and organizations serving missionaries and their families โ€” and help more families hold onto the little moments that can become some of the biggest memories.

And whether your missionary is getting ready to leave, currently serving, or already home, families can create a journal to begin organizing and preserving their mission story.
