🌪️ Record-Breaking Tornado Confirmed in Davis County Mountains

Remember that powerful September storm that swept through Davis County? It turns out a tornado that touched down near Bair Canyon on September 18 was one for Utah's record books!

According to the National Weather Service's October 2 preliminary survey, the EF2 tornado reached approximately 1.1 miles wide, making it the widest documented tornado in Utah. With estimated winds of up to 120 mph, it traveled nearly six miles through the mountains toward Francis Peak and Morgan County.

The storm snapped mature pine trees and damaged large patches of forest during its approximately 16 minutes on the ground.

Thankfully, no injuries or deaths were reported.
