🔧 Bountiful’s Repair Shop Keeps Costs Down

Bountiful’s six-person maintenance crew handles repairs and upgrades on roughly 900 pieces of city equipment, helping departments avoid costly outsourcing. City fleet supervisor Jared Edge says some repairs can be completed for about 25% of what outside service could cost, including major savings on hydraulic equipment.

Keeping repairs in-house helps stretch Bountiful taxpayer dollars while keeping city vehicles and equipment ready for streets, sanitation, water, police, and fire services. 👉 Read More

💰 Davis County Sales Tax Going Up in 2027

Davis County commissioners unanimously approved a 0.2 percentage-point sales tax increase, raising the total rate in most county cities from 7.25% to 7.45% starting Jan. 1, 2027. The increase is projected to generate about $15.98 million annually, with funding directed to transportation, public safety and other county needs.

South Davis residents will pay a little more on taxable purchases, while local cities receive additional transportation funding — including about $442,000 for Bountiful, $288,000 for North Salt Lake, $233,000 for Centerville, $329,000 for Farmington and $99,000 for West Bountiful each year.

🔥 Fire Quickly Contained at Bountiful Home

South Davis Metro Fire crews responded to a residential fire near 3100 Orchard Drive in Bountiful after multiple callers reported smoke coming from the property.

Firefighters arrived to find a working fire in a storage unit attached to a carport. Crews had the fire under control within 11 minutes and confirmed it fully extinguished within 18 minutes of dispatch.

No civilians or firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. 👉 See Post

🏈 Woods Cross Heads to Bountiful Tonight

It’s a matchup tonight as Woods Cross visits Bountiful for a 7 PM kickoff at Bountiful High.

The Wildcats come in at 2–3, while Bountiful is 2–2 heading into the Region 6 matchup. And fans may want to keep an eye on the sky—the Friday forecast includes a high chance of showers and possible thunderstorms.

🍂 Free Fall Fun Around Davis County - Families looking to keep weekend costs down have plenty of options this fall, from hiking and birdwatching to free arts programs and community events.
