🚨 Car Crashes Into Bountiful Arby’s, Damaging Dining Area

A vehicle crashed into the Arby’s in Bountiful about a week ago Saturday, causing visible damage to the building’s exterior wall and part of the interior dining area.

According to information shared with Bountiful Buzz, the driver was reportedly parked facing the building and accidentally pressed the gas while the vehicle was still in drive instead of reverse. Photos show damage to the outside wall and the inside seating area near a table.

Thankfully, it appears no one was sitting at the table where the vehicle hit. We have not yet seen official details on injuries or a police report.

🚗 Fatal Five-Vehicle Crash on I-15 in Woods Cross

A driver was killed Saturday morning in a five-vehicle crash on northbound I-15 near 2600 South in Woods Cross. Utah Highway Patrol said a silver sedan struck a semi-truck at high speed, triggering additional collisions; another person suffered minor injuries. Northbound lanes reopened just before noon after being closed for about seven hours.

The crash caused major delays through the South Davis corridor and remains under investigation. 👉 Read More

🌪️ Tornado Touches Down as Strong Storms Sweep Davis County

Friday afternoon brought some wild weather to Davis County, including a confirmed tornado that touched down near Fruit Heights shortly before 2 PM.

The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado near the Francis Peak area as thunderstorms moved through the county, bringing heavy rain, hail and strong winds. A flood advisory during the storm included Bountiful, Farmington, Centerville, North Salt Lake, Woods Cross and West Bountiful.

Thankfully, no significant damage was reported in our immediate South Davis communities in the information available over the weekend.

🏈 Bountiful Pulls Away From Woods Cross, 28–7

The Bountiful–Woods Cross rivalry was tied 7–7 at halftime Friday night before the Redhawks took control in the second half for a 28–7 Region 6 win.

Ami Vunipola scored twice for Bountiful, while Max Feller added a fourth-quarter interception return for a touchdown. Madden Parks followed with another rushing score to put the game away.

Bountiful improves to 3–2, while Woods Cross moves to 2–4.

🏐 Local Girls Volleyball Had a Busy Week

Local Volleyball teams picked up several wins from Sept. 14–19.  Bountiful swept Viewmont 3–0, then added 3–0 wins over Olympus and Brighton. Viewmont bounced back later in the week with a 3–1 win over Alta.

Woods Cross stayed hot, sweeping Alta and Skyline 3–0 before heading to the Durango Fall Classic, where the Wildcats faced some of the country’s stronger programs and lost 2–1 to Mater Dei on Friday. Brylee Howard had 11 kills, seven digs and five aces in the Skyline win.

Up in Farmington, the Phoenix earned a tight 3–2 region win over Davis on Thursday.

Local Buzz takeaway: Bountiful and Woods Cross both put together especially strong stretches, while Farmington came through in a five-set battle and Viewmont finished the week with a win.
