🏛️ Woods Cross Moves Ahead on New City Hall

Woods Cross is considering creating a Local Building Authority to help finance its planned City Hall and Hogan Park project through lease-revenue bonds. The overall project has been estimated at more than $33 million, with city leaders still weighing which park improvements, ADA playground features, and City Hall additions make the final plan.

The financing structure and final project scope will shape how Woods Cross pays for a major public investment serving residents for years to come.

🚸 New Crosswalk Could Be Coming Near Odyssey Elementary

Woods Cross City Council will consider adding pedestrian-crossing signs and a marked crosswalk near Odyssey Elementary around 1950 W. 1950 S. during a special meeting Tuesday, Sept. 29. The council is also scheduled to discuss proposed rules for internal and detached accessory dwelling units (ADUs).

A new marked crossing could improve visibility and pedestrian safety for students and families traveling near the school. 👉 Details

🌪️ Davis County Tornado Brings Preparedness Home

After a recent tornado swept through Davis County, local families are getting a reminder that unexpected emergencies can happen close to home. At Saturday’s Emergency Preparedness Fair in Farmington, residents learned about severe weather, earthquakes, wildfires, flooding, home safety and building emergency supplies.

Local emergency officials are encouraging South Davis families to make a household emergency plan and start building the supplies they may need before the next emergency hits. 👉 Read More

🏈 Bountiful Wins Crosstown Battle Over Viewmont

Bountiful earned bragging rights Friday night with a 28–19 win over crosstown rival Viewmont. The Redhawks answered a second-quarter Viewmont lead with a 40-yard touchdown catch by Will Smoot, then shut out the Vikings in the fourth quarter to improve to 4–2 overall and stay unbeaten in Region 6.

The rivalry win keeps Bountiful perfect in region play as the season heads toward its final stretch.

🏈 Tough Friday Night for Woods Cross & Farmington

Alta 27, Woods Cross 21 — Woods Cross led entering the fourth quarter, but Alta scored 21 points in the final period to rally past the Wildcats. Woods Cross falls to 2–5.

Fremont 14, Farmington 11 — Farmington mounted a late comeback with a touchdown and two-point conversion in the final two minutes, but Fremont held on. The Phoenix fall to 3–4.
