⭐️ Honoring Memorial Day Across Davis County
Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start to summer — it’s a time to pause, remember, and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Across Davis County today, communities are gathering for patriotic programs, remembrance services, fundraisers, family traditions, and meaningful moments together. ❤️🤍💙
👇 Here are just a few things happening around the area this Memorial Day:
⭐️ Woods Cross is hosting a full morning of community traditions at Hogan Park with a 5K Fun Run, patriotic program, community breakfast, classic car show, and the Cahoon Antique Show featuring antique cars, trucks, and tractors.
⭐️ Bountiful will also host a Memorial Day Commemoration at 11 AM at Bountiful Veteran’s Park, bringing the community together to honor veterans and military families as part of the America 250 celebration.
🌭 A fundraiser for Primary Children’s is happening at Smith’s in Woods Cross from 11 AM–2 PM with hot dogs, chips, drinks, a dunk tank, raffle, and family fun.
🍬 Over in Kaysville, Sugar Moose Candy is open on Memorial Day and recently brought back fun Swedish candy from their travels abroad.

🎈 Seniors Take the Leap in Farmington
Three residents from Legacy House of Park Lane checked skydiving off their bucket lists this week as part of the community’s “No Regrets Club.” Wanda Harker, Cory Ponder, and Dave Cox each took the jump with support from family, friends, and the team at Skydive Utah — proving adventure doesn’t come with an age limit. One resident is living with Cerebral Palsy, another with Parkinson’s Disease, making the moment even more inspiring. 👉 Read More
🌲 Bark Beetles May Be Hitting Pine Trees Across Bountiful
A local resident recently shared that several mature pine trees on his property were diagnosed with bark beetles after starting to die last fall. After treatment from a local arborist, the trees are now showing healthy new growth this spring. Similar browning and stressed pine trees are being spotted around Bountiful and North Salt Lake, especially near the 500 W corridor.
Warning signs can include browning needles, thinning branches, falling bark, or trees suddenly looking unhealthy. Arborists say early treatment can sometimes save mature trees before permanent damage sets in.
Mature trees are expensive to replace and play a big role in the look and shade of South Davis neighborhoods.
Here are a few Local arborist options residents may want to contact:

🛝 Farmington’s New Park Has the Tallest Slide on the Wasatch Front
Farmington officially opened the new North Cottonwood Regional Park, featuring what city leaders say is the tallest playground slide on the Wasatch Front. The park also includes walking paths along Shepard Creek, picnic areas, hammocking spots, swings, and a fire pit designed for family gatherings. The park’s name honors Farmington’s original 1847 settlement name, North Cottonwood.
This gives local families a major new outdoor destination just in time for summer break — and it’s likely to become one of Farmington’s busiest community gathering spots. 👉 ABC4 Story & Video

⚽ Bountiful Boys Soccer Brings Home State Title
Bountiful Redhawks captured the 5A state championship Friday with a dramatic 1-0 double overtime win over Maple Mountain at Zions Bank Stadium. Cameron Martin buried the game-winning penalty kick late in overtime after a relentless defensive battle, giving Bountiful its first boys soccer title since 2013 and tying Alta for the most championships in Utah history with 10.
It’s a huge moment for Bountiful sports pride — especially for the senior class, who skipped graduation to finish their season with a state title. Way To Go!
