💙 North Salt Lake PD Receives "Brave Bags" for Survivors
The North Salt Lake Police Department has received a donation of "Brave Bags" from Makenna, founder of Dear Survivors, to support individuals who have recently experienced sexual assault. Each bag includes a Minky Couture blanket, journal, hygiene kit, Bath & Body Works item, resource card, and a survivor challenge coin to provide comfort and connect recipients with support. Makenna's goal is to make these care packages available to every police department across Utah.
These care packages give officers a meaningful way to provide immediate comfort and resources to survivors during some of their most difficult moments.

🎢 Lagoon Celebrates 140 Years of Family Fun
Lagoon Amusement Park is marking its 140th anniversary, celebrating a legacy that began in 1886—10 years before Utah became a state. From its early days as a lakeside resort to becoming the nation's largest family-owned amusement park, Lagoon has grown into one of Utah's most iconic attractions while continuing to add new experiences, including this year's new ride, The Nutcracker.

🚔 Second Arrest Made in West Point Homicide Investigation
A second person has been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into the fatal May shooting of 71-year-old West Point resident and military veteran James "Randy" Witten. Investigators say the case remains active as they continue working to determine each suspect's role in the homicide.
\West Point is part of South Davis County, and this update marks another significant step in a homicide investigation that has deeply impacted the local community.

Utah lawmakers are once again discussing whether the state should adopt permanent Daylight Saving Time if federal law ever allows it. As you might expect, opinions are all over the map.
Some readers love the idea of more evening daylight during the winter, while others are concerned about children waiting for school buses before sunrise. And quite a few have said they don't really care which time we keep... they just want to stop changing the clocks twice a year!

Future Braves cheerleaders are invited to join the Bountiful High cheer squad for the ultimate Mini Cheer experience! Participants will attend cheer clinics on August 5–6, then perform and cheer at the August 7 football game. Campers will learn crowd-leading skills, perform a fun dance with poms, cheer alongside the BHS team, and take the field for a halftime performance.
