Farmington Bridge Opens as Part of Ongoing I-15 Project

A new bridge over I-15 in Farmington opened this week, restoring a long-missing connection between the city’s east and west sides. The North Station Lane bridge replaces the Shepard Lane bridge, which was removed in May as part of a major interchange upgrade.

The bridge is open to pedestrians and limited vehicle traffic, though UDOT crews are still finalizing traffic signals, lane striping, and signage. A temporary walkway on the north shoulder is available for pedestrians.

Once complete, the interchange will feature a 10-foot-wide shared-use trail, new sidewalks, and a separate pedestrian bridge. The full project is scheduled for completion in winter 2026.

Drivers should expect overnight closures on I-15 through Davis County in the coming months. Closures began Monday, Nov. 24, with northbound I-15 reduced to one lane between Park Lane and 200 North from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. More closures are planned in December and January. For updates, visit UDOT’s website.

Local Love: Bellie Bags Brings Style & Deals to Farmington

One of the things I love most is sharing amazing local businesses — and today I’m excited to introduce you to Bellie Bags, founded by Kennedy Bringhurst!

Usually based in St. George, Kennedy is spending time with family in Farmington — and she’s brought her stylish, toddler-friendly diaper bags along for the ride.

Bellie bags are designed for parents on the go, with thoughtful features like an easy-access wipes pocket that make everyday parenting just a bit smoother. Best part? They're great for all stages of life — not just babies!

To celebrate the season, Bellie is offering a Black Friday Sale25% off sitewide and free local delivery in Farmington— but only for this week! (Discounts appear at checkout.)

Support a woman-owned business and grab a bag that’s as cute as it is practical. Shop at www.belliebags.com or follow along on Instagram: @belliebags.

Sharing gems like this is what makes my day! 💛

🍽️ Thousands Served at Salt Lake’s Thanksgiving Outreach

This week, more than 5,000 Utahns experiencing homelessness were welcomed into the Salt Palace Convention Center for a warm Thanksgiving meal — and so much more.

Hosted by The Salt Lake Mission, the annual outreach event offered not only hot food, but also free haircuts, health services, clothing, and access to housing and recovery resources. The goal? To offer comfort, care, and hope during the holiday season.

Volunteers filled the space with kindness, creating a place where guests could feel seen, supported, and valued — even if just for a day.

🌿 Wellness Wednesday with Erin 🌿

The 5-Senses Reset (Calm in 90 Seconds)

When your mind feels scattered and your body is buzzing with stress, one of the fastest ways to come back to center is through your five senses. It’s simple, gentle, and you can do it anywhere.

Wellness Tip: Try a 5-Senses Reset
Pause for a moment and notice:
1️⃣ 5 things you can see
2️⃣ 4 things you can feel (your clothes, the chair, your feet on the floor)
3️⃣ 3 things you can hear
4️⃣ 2 things you can smell
5️⃣ 1 thing you can taste (even a sip of water counts)

This practice tells your nervous system, “I’m here. I’m safe.”
In less than two minutes, your thoughts slow down, your body softens, and you’re back in the present—where your power actually is. 💜

🧣 Sunday Soup & Blanket Drive Helping Those in Need

Local neighbors are stepping up in a big way through the Sunday Soup and Bountiful Blanket Drive, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake City. Organizer Fox Les is collecting donations of used blankets, coats, gloves, and beanies — with a convenient drop-off box located at Dick’s Market on Orchard Drive.

Food donations are also welcome, including canned goods, noodles, beans, and vegetables, which volunteers use to prepare hot soup handed out every Sunday morning.
Those interested in helping cook, donate, or assist with distribution can reach out to Les directly for details.

As temperatures drop, this grassroots effort is a powerful reminder of Bountiful’s caring spirit and the difference we can make together.

⚠️ Correction:

We had mistakenly listed Annie’s Café’s free community Thanksgiving dinner as happening Wednesday, Nov. 27th. Right day of the week but wrong date! The correct date is today, Wednesday, Nov. 26th at 3:00 PM.
Please see the updated details below — and thank you for your understanding! 🧡

🦃 Annie’s Café Serves Up Kindness This Thanksgiving

The spirit of giving is alive and well at Annie’s Café, where owners Annie and David are opening their doors — and their hearts — to anyone in need of a warm meal and good company this Thanksgiving.

Their free community Thanksgiving dinner will be held Today, Wednesday, November 26th at 3:00 PM at Annie’s Café, featuring all the comforting favorites: turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, rolls, and homemade desserts.

Annie shared, “We want everyone to feel cared for and celebrated — families, seniors, young adults — anyone who could use a place to belong this holiday.”

No reservation is needed, but guests are encouraged to call 385-327-3737 so the café can prepare plenty for all.

“It would truly mean a lot to share this moment together as a community,” Annie added. “We’re so thankful for the people who make this town feel like family.”
