Farmington Woman Charged After Defying Lagoon Park Ban

A 48-year-old woman is facing a criminal charge after allegedly violating a one-year ban from Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah. Authorities say the woman, identified as Jami Smith Hewlett, returned to the park just one day after being officially barred from entering.

The incident began when Hewlett was informed by Lagoon security on a Saturday that she was prohibited from accessing the park for a full year. Despite this directive, she reportedly returned the very next day and later posted photos on social media showing her and her children enjoying the park.

Following the online posts, local police reviewed surveillance footage from the park, which they say confirmed Hewlett’s presence. She was subsequently arrested and booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of criminal trespass, a class B misdemeanor.

Man at Large After Failed Robbery Attempt at Layton Credit Union

Police in Layton are actively searching for a man accused of attempting to rob an America First Credit Union branch late Friday morning. The incident took place shortly before 11 a.m. at the credit union located near 400 West Heritage Park Boulevard.

According to authorities, the suspect entered the building and demanded money from a cashier. The employee did not comply with the demand, leading the suspect to leave the credit union without taking anything. He then fled the area on foot.

As of now, the man remains unidentified and at large. Layton Police Department detectives are continuing their investigation and working to determine the suspect’s identity.
