Local Youth Donate Go-Bags and Toys to Help Families in Crisis

A group of children between the ages of 8 and 11 made a heartfelt contribution to the North Salt Lake Police Department by donating 207 stuffed animals and a collection of emergency go-bags. These donations are intended to assist officers in supporting children and families affected by domestic violence. The stuffed animals will be kept in patrol cars to help comfort children during difficult or traumatic situations, while the go-bags contain essential personal documents, medications, and supplies that families might need if they must leave their homes quickly. This thoughtful gesture reflects a strong sense of community and compassion from North Salt Lake's youngest residents.

Seniors Return in Cap and Gown for Holbrook’s Graduation Parade

Holbrook Elementary School is set to roll out the red carpet for its former students with a special Graduation Parade on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. This heartfelt tradition invites graduating high school seniors who once attended Holbrook to return to their roots and inspire the next generation.

Seniors are asked to begin arriving at 1:50 p.m., with the parade through the school hallways kicking off promptly at 2:00 p.m. Participants should don their cap and gown for the occasion, as they walk the familiar halls once again—this time as role models and symbols of what hard work and perseverance can achieve.

This celebratory event offers current elementary students a glimpse of the future, while allowing graduates to reflect on their journey and reconnect with their educational beginnings. Families of high school seniors are encouraged to help spread the word and ensure their graduates take part in this memorable send-off.

Bountiful Volleyball Stays Unbeaten in Region with Perfect 7-0 Week

Bountiful boys volleyball had a standout week, winning seven matches including a dramatic five-set victory over rival Viewmont and going undefeated in the Sky View Tournament. Davis also remained dominant in Region 1, sweeping both of its opponents. Farmington had mixed results, earning several tournament wins but falling to Davis and Bountiful. Viewmont split its week with a win over Woods Cross and a close loss to Bountiful, while Woods Cross ended on a high note with a victory against Bonneville.

A Night of Creativity and Connection at Valley View Elementary

Valley View Elementary in the Davis School District recently hosted a vibrant evening event celebrating global culture, creativity, and community spirit. Students, families, and staff gathered in the school’s hallways, which had been transformed into a colorful showcase of student artwork, international displays, and live performances. The event highlighted the diverse cultural backgrounds represented within the school community, fostering a sense of global awareness and appreciation.

The celebration was made possible through the dedicated efforts of librarian Lori Thorpe and art teacher Beth Dickson, whose leadership brought the vision to life. In addition to enjoying the artistic and cultural displays, attendees supported a meaningful cause: raising funds for the school’s sister institution in Zambia.

The event proved to be an inspiring blend of education, creativity, and compassion, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.
