🎶 Summer Concerts Return to Bountiful Park

Bountiful City just dropped the full 2026 “Music in the Park” lineup, bringing a mix of local favorites and talented performers to Bountiful City Park all summer long. Concerts are free and typically start at 7 PM, with a few special events tied to Handcart Days and Summerfest. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and snacks for a relaxed evening outdoors.

Why It Matters: It’s a free, easy way for families and neighbors to connect and enjoy summer nights right here in town.

🚨 Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested After Centerville Crash

A 77-year-old woman was struck by a white SUV early Thursday morning near Island View Drive while walking with her husband. The driver left the scene, but police used neighborhood surveillance and license plate reader cameras to track down the vehicle in Ogden. A 67-year-old man was arrested after officers found damage consistent with the crash; the victim remains hospitalized with multiple broken bones.

Why It Matters: This highlights both pedestrian safety concerns on local roads and how quickly technology is helping law enforcement identify drivers who leave the scene.

🌊 Push to Refill the Great Salt Lake Gains Steam

Utah business leaders are stepping up efforts to help restore the Great Salt Lake as water levels remain dangerously low. New discussions focus on conservation, policy changes, and finding ways to get more water flowing back into the lake. Leaders say collaboration between businesses, government, and residents will be key to long-term solutions.

Why It Matters: The lake’s health directly impacts our air quality, economy, and overall quality of life here in Davis County.

🏐 Viewmont Sweeps Olympus in Road Win

The Viewmont Vikings took down Olympus Titans in straight sets on the road Wednesday night, winning 27-25, 28-26, and 28-26. It was a tight match throughout, but Viewmont stayed consistent in each set to secure the sweep and improve to 9-7 on the season.

Why It Matters: It’s a strong region win for Viewmont as they build momentum heading deeper into the season.
