⚠️ Centerville Police Warns Against Convincing Jury Duty Scam Calls
Area residents are being alerted by the local police about an ongoing phone scam. Imposters, posing as Davis County deputies, are contacting people with false claims of arrest warrants due to missed jury duty, demanding payments to resolve these fake warrants. These calls are alarmingly persuasive, with scammers sometimes using names of retired law enforcement officers for authenticity.
Instances of these scams include demands for payment through specific ATMs and high-pressure tactics from supposed law enforcement superiors. However, vigilant residents have managed these situations cleverly, often keeping the scammers engaged without providing any personal or financial information.
The Centerville Police Department emphasizes the importance of caution in such situations. Residents are advised not to share any payment information over the phone and to immediately report such calls to the police. It is crucial to remember that legitimate law enforcement agencies never solicit payments or personal details for warrants over phone calls. The community is urged to stay informed and cautious.

Farmington Welcomes Bartolo’s with Festive Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Bartolo's Italian Inspired Kitchen, a new restaurant in Farmington's Station Park, celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting event. The establishment, owned by Alex and Rhia Bartolo, serves Italian cuisine with Brazilian influences, like the Rigatoni Bolognese recipe from Alex's family. The restaurant, which already has locations in Park City and Sugar House, offers brunch and dinner with signature dishes like house focaccia and beet tomato salad. Bartolo's is the third Italian restaurant in this location, bringing a fresh culinary perspective to the local dining scene.

Expert Tips to Protect Your Pipes from the Winter Chill in Utah
Utah homeowners are being advised on how to prevent their pipes from freezing and potentially causing damage to their homes. Zack Craghead, the owner of Mike Norr Plumbing, emphasized the importance of preparing for cold weather. Key suggestions include insulating hose bibs, running water during extreme cold, and ensuring warm air circulation around pipes, especially those near attics or external vents. He warned against using improper methods like welders or propane heaters to thaw pipes, which can be hazardous. These preventative measures are crucial, as many pipe freezes and subsequent flooding incidents are avoidable with proper attention and care.

Utah Stars Shine in NFL's 2023 Season Finale
In a thrilling culmination of the 2023 NFL regular season, players and coaches with Utah connections showcased remarkable performances during the 18th week. Each athlete, hailing from diverse teams, contributed uniquely to their respective games. Standout performances illuminated the field, while some players observed from the sidelines. As the regular season wrapped up, several teams, buoyed by the talents of these local stars, are now gearing up for the upcoming playoff battles.

In the "Work the Room" round, students practiced professional skills like handshakes, eye contact, and conversation with community members, including the Mayor of West Point City. The event emphasizes the importance of holistic education by developing social and interpersonal skills in young students.
