Overnight I-15 Closures Set for Pedestrian Bridge Work in Davis County

Centerville City, Utah — All southbound lanes of I-15 between Park Lane (Exit 325) and Parrish Lane (Exit 319) will close overnight from 10:30 p.m. on Friday, January 9, to 6:30 a.m. Saturday, January 10. The closure supports ongoing work on a new pedestrian bridge.

Lane restrictions will begin earlier, starting at 9 p.m. Friday and continuing until 7 a.m. Saturday. Southbound drivers will be detoured to Legacy Parkway and should allow extra time for travel.

More information is available at udotinput.utah.gov/shepardlaneinterchange, or by contacting project officials at 385-758-2040 or [email protected].

Reflect, Create, and Plan: Davis County Hosts Intentional Goal-Setting Event

USU Extension – Davis County and the USU Botanical Center are kicking off 2026 with their first “Gather and Grow” workshop on Wednesday, January 28 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Designed to help participants reflect and reset with intention, the event combines practical goal-setting advice with a fun, hands-on journaling session.

Guest speaker Megan Kessimakis will offer approachable strategies for setting goals that align with personal values, followed by a creative journaling activity where attendees can design their own goal-setting tools—like intention boards or vision pages. No artistic skills are needed, just a willingness to explore and get inspired.

Participants will leave with a personalized journal, creative tools, and a fresh outlook for the year ahead.

Bald Eagle Season Returns to Utah: Viewing Event and Top Sighting Spots

Every winter, hundreds of bald eagles migrate to Utah, with the best viewing opportunities occurring from late January to February. The Division of Wildlife Resources will host a free eagle viewing event near Cedar City on January 9. Additionally, bald eagles can be spotted across the state, with key locations including Farmington Bay, Utah Lake, the San Pitch River, and the Ouray National Wildlife Refuge. Viewers are urged to stay on public lands and follow safety guidelines.

🏀 Viewmont Secures Region Win Over Alta with Fast Start, 70-58

Viewmont defeated Alta 70-58 in a Region 6 boys basketball game, building an early lead with a 24-14 first quarter. Tyson Bromley led with 19 points and two 3-pointers, while Adam Henderson added 18. Alta's Nash Lundberg scored 13 points and hit three 3-pointers, matching teammate Dash Reiser's long-range effort.

🌿 Wellness Wisdom with Erin 🌿

The Healing Power of Rhythm

Rhythm is one of the oldest forms of healing. Drumming helps regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and bring the body and mind back into balance. The steady beat grounds your energy, quiets mental noise, and creates a powerful sense of connection—to yourself and to something deeper.

 Wellness Tip:
When life feels overwhelming, place your hand over your heart and tap a slow, steady rhythm for one minute. Let your breath follow the beat. Your body naturally responds to rhythm as safety and calm.
