Whatโ€™s a good winter tip?

Never catch snowflakes on your tongue until
all the birds have flown south for the winter.

๐Ÿคฉ We're excited to announce that Sheri Peck,
from Century 21 Everest will be our esteemed sponsor for the upcoming months. Her expertise in real estate and dedication to our community will be a guiding light in our local news section.

Local Dad Turns E-Bike into Star Wars Speeder, Wows Neighborhood Kids

A Star Wars fan transformed his son's e-bike into a speeder from the movies using simple materials and $40. Initially inspired by making Jedi costumes for Comic-Con, this project led to a unique bike that simulates hovering and has impressed local children. The father's talent and creativity indicate potential for broader opportunities in costume and prop design.

โ›ท๏ธ Salt Lake City's Olympic Dream: On Track for 2034 Winter Games Hosting

Salt Lake City has been named the preferred host for the 2034 Winter Olympics, a decision influenced by its successful 2002 Games hosting, strong public support, and a well-structured plan requiring minimal new investment. While the selection marks a significant step, final agreements and negotiations are still underway.

๐Ÿ‘Ž Low-Turnout in Davis County Municipal Elections

In the recent municipal elections in Davis County, voter participation was notably low, with less than half of the registered voters casting their ballots. The elections primarily resulted in incumbents retaining their positions, with a few new faces joining various city councils. A notable race was for the U.S. House District 2, where Republican Celeste Maloy triumphed over Democrat Kathleen Riebe. In various cities like Bountiful, Farmington, and Kaysville, incumbents successfully held onto their seats. North Salt Lake City welcomed two new council members, Tammy Clayton and Suzette Jackson, while West Bountiful saw a close race with Rodney J. Wood losing his re-election bid. Clinton City's Proposition 10, aimed at funding park and recreational improvements through a small sales tax increase, narrowly passed. The final election results are pending official confirmation on December 6.

๐Ÿ€ Utah Women's Basketball Triumphs in Front of Thousands of Young Fans

The Utah women's basketball team, ranked 12th, captivated a young audience with a commanding 100-44 win over Carroll College. The vibrant atmosphere, boosted by the presence of elementary school children, contributed to the team's dynamic performance. Key players Gianna Kneepkens and Alissa Pili led the scoring, with Kneepkens achieving a personal milestone of 1,000 career points.
