Tractor-Trailer Rollover on Legacy Highway Traps Driver, Requires Airlift

A tractor-trailer rolled over on Legacy Highway in Centerville on Tuesday afternoon, trapping the driver inside. South Davis Metro Fire crews responded to the scene and carried out an extensive extrication process. Two medical helicopters were deployed—one for transport and another carrying a specialized trauma team. The driver was eventually freed and flown to a local trauma center in stable but serious condition. The accident is under investigation.

Gardeners, Get Ready! Free Seed-Starting Workshop at Kaysville Library

Although Punxsutawney Phil has predicted six more weeks of winter, it’s never too early to start thinking about spring gardening. The Davis County Library is helping local residents get a head start with a Seed Starting Workshop this Saturday at the Kaysville Branch.

The event, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on February 10, will provide expert tips on how to successfully start plants from seeds, ensuring they are ready to flourish when the warmer weather arrives. Attendees will learn the basics of seed selection, proper planting techniques, and how to care for young seedlings indoors before transferring them to an outdoor garden.

With spring right around the corner, this workshop offers a great opportunity for both novice and experienced gardeners to sharpen their skills. The Kaysville Library is also planning another spring gardening event on March 8 at 10:30 a.m., giving participants even more resources to prepare for a successful growing season.

Family-Friendly Pageant Invites Young Girls to Shine on Stage

Parents looking for a fun and uplifting experience for their little ones can sign up for the upcoming Beehive Beauties pageant, set to take place on February 22 in Layton, Utah. This all-natural beauty pageant welcomes girls from newborns to 17 years old, focusing on confidence, personality, and fun rather than makeup or heavy styling.

Each participant will have the chance to shine on stage in two outfit changes, showcasing their unique charm. To ensure that every contestant feels special, all participants will receive a trophy, tiara, sash, and a prize during the event. Additionally, a full-size magazine will feature each girl inside, making for a cherished keepsake.
