🚒 New Fire Chief Takes the Helm at South Davis Metro

South Davis Metro Fire Service Area has officially named Jeff Larson as its new fire chief. A Bountiful native with nearly 30 years of emergency services experience, Larson told city leaders his focus will be on firefighter training, leadership development, and maintaining strong emergency response capabilities across the district.
South Davis Metro responds to roughly 7,500 calls each year, making leadership continuity and emergency preparedness important for residents throughout Bountiful, North Salt Lake, Centerville, and surrounding communities.

💰 Kaysville Resident Finds $25,000 Treasure Above Farmington

A Kaysville man is celebrating a big payday after finding the $25,000 Utah Treasure Hunt chest hidden in the foothills above Farmington. Bobby Smalley solved a series of clues that led him to the Flag Rock and Patsy's Mine area, where he uncovered the treasure Saturday morning after an early-morning hike.

Beyond the prize money, the annual hunt shines a spotlight on local trails and landmarks, bringing outdoor enthusiasts to Davis County and highlighting some of Farmington's unique mountain history. 👉 Read More

🐾 Local Pet Pros Say Fleas Are Still a Problem

Still seeing fleas and ticks around South Davis County? Local pet care providers report that cases remain elevated this month, making it a good time to check that your dog's preventative treatments are up to date.

With summer hikes, neighborhood walks, dog parks, and backyard play in full swing, pet owners may want to keep an eye out for unwanted hitchhikers. A quick check after outdoor adventures can go a long way toward keeping pets healthy and comfortable.

📣 Bountiful High Cheer Mini Cheer Camp Returns!

Future Braves cheerleaders are invited to join the Bountiful High cheer squad for the ultimate Mini Cheer experience! Participants will attend cheer clinics on August 5–6, then perform and cheer at the August 7 football game. Campers will learn crowd-leading skills, perform a fun dance with poms, cheer alongside the BHS team, and take the field for a halftime performance.
