Bountiful Police Searching for Suspect in Porch Package Theft

Bountiful City police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a recent package theft. Surveillance footage captured the individual approaching a residential porch and removing a delivered package before quickly leaving the scene.

Authorities have launched an investigation and are actively working to determine the suspect's identity. They encourage anyone who recognizes the person or has information about the incident to come forward. The case is being handled by Detective Sanborn.

This theft is one of several similar incidents reported in the area, prompting police to remind residents to be vigilant and consider using security measures such as doorbell cameras or secure delivery options.

Rockin E Country Store & Garden Center Gives Away Free Plants in Greenhouse Clearance

Gardeners in the area have something to celebrate: Rockin E Country Store & Garden Center has launched a greenhouse clearance event, giving away all remaining vegetable and herb plants—for free.

The store is making space for its upcoming fall planting season and is encouraging customers to stop by and take home any plants they can use. Whether it's for a backyard garden, kitchen windowsill, or even a neighbor's plot, the goal is to rehome the plants rather than let them go to waste.

Plants are available now in the greenhouse on a first-come, first-served basis. The team at Rockin E hopes the giveaway helps local growers and promotes community sharing, all while clearing the way for new seasonal starts.

🔥 Authorities Seek UTV Driver in Connection with Monroe Fire as Blaze Spreads

The Monroe Canyon Fire in Sevier County has now burned over 5,000 acres and remains 0% contained. The wildfire began Sunday near Monroe Mountain and is threatening dozens of structures, prompting mandatory evacuations from Magelbys to Cove Mountain, including Elk Country Cabins and nearby properties.

Officials have closed Monroe Canyon Road and parts of the Fishlake National Forest’s Richfield Ranger District. Residents are urged to evacuate via the Koosharem side of the mountain.

Authorities are also seeking help identifying a person who may be linked to the fire’s origin. The individual was seen driving a dark blue 2-door UTV with red and white markings and a cracked windshield on the lower passenger side around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

A Red Flag Warning remains in effect, with hot, dry conditions and winds up to 25 mph expected through Tuesday night. Fire crews continue working under the Central Utah Type 3 Incident Management Team

Utah Family Rescued After Minivan Rolls Into Snake River in Idaho

A Utah family of six is safe after their minivan rolled off a narrow road and into Idaho’s Snake River on Monday. The accident happened near Swan Valley, where the vehicle slid down a 30-foot embankment and became partially submerged.

The family called 911 while trapped in the van as water rose inside. Emergency crews used rope and diving gear to rescue them, and no injuries were reported—just exposure to the cold water.

Officials say the van remained upright, which likely prevented a more serious outcome. The family has since returned home and requested privacy.
