Free Online Breathwork Session Offered by South Davis Recreation Center

The South Davis Recreation Center is hosting a free online introduction to SKY Breath on May 28 or May 31. The session offers guided breathwork, stress relief techniques, and insights into the mental and physical benefits of mindful breathing. Open to all, it provides a no-pressure way to explore wellness through breath.

Mail Thieves Strike Again Over Holiday Weekend in North Salt Lake

North Salt Lake residents are once again facing a troubling pattern as mail thefts resurfaced over the Memorial Day weekend. According to a post in a local community Facebook group, thieves targeted a locked mailbox on Sunday, May 25, despite a visible security camera warning.

The incident is part of an ongoing issue, with residents reporting that similar thefts tend to occur during holiday weekends. The targeted mailbox, secured with a lock and equipped with surveillance signage, was not enough to deter the culprits.

Community members responded with frustration and concern. Many speculated that the thieves may live nearby, questioning what value the stolen mail could even hold. Others inquired about the location of the theft and whether the mailbox was indeed secure. One commenter shared a link to the United States Postal Inspection Service's official mail theft reporting page, encouraging others to report the crime.

This incident highlights the importance of remaining vigilant, especially during holidays when such crimes appear to spike. Authorities urge anyone affected to report incidents through official channels and consider additional security measures.

Hiker Seriously Injured in 20-Foot Fall at Adams Canyon Waterfall

A hike turned dangerous in Layton on Monday when a man fell more than 20 feet from near the top of the Adams Canyon waterfall, suffering serious injuries.

The incident occurred when the man climbed up rocks beside the waterfall and slipped, plunging onto the rocks below. Another hiker witnessed the fall and quickly assisted in pulling the injured man out of the water.

Emergency crews responded swiftly. Due to the severity of the injuries — which included a significant head wound and a serious leg injury — the hiker had to be airlifted by helicopter for urgent medical care.

Rescue officials emphasized the inherent dangers of venturing close to steep drops and slippery surfaces, particularly in areas like Adams Canyon that are known for loose rocks and unpredictable terrain.

Authorities are reminding outdoor enthusiasts to prioritize safety by staying on marked trails, remaining cautious around water features, and being prepared for variable trail and weather conditions.

Woods Cross High Celebrates 527 Graduates with Over $9.5 Million in Scholarships

Woods Cross High School celebrated 527 graduates at Weber State University, awarding over $9.5 million in scholarships. Forty-one students earned the Seal of Biliteracy, and the class was noted for its inclusive spirit, especially through Unified Sports.

Bountiful Grads Earn $16.9M and Lead in Biliteracy Achievement

Bountiful High School celebrated 500 graduates this year, with the Class of 2025 earning over $16.9 million in scholarships. A total of 86 students earned the Seal of Biliteracy, giving Bountiful the highest percentage of multilingual graduates in the district at 17.5%.

Farmington High Graduates 692 Seniors, Tops $15.4M in Scholarships

Farmington High School recently celebrated the graduation of 692 seniors, marking a significant milestone for both the students and the community. This year’s class earned an impressive total of more than $15.4 million in scholarships, a testament to their hard work and academic excellence.

Among the standout achievements, 110 graduates were awarded the prestigious Seal of Biliteracy, making Farmington the district leader in multilingual accomplishment. The recognition highlights the school’s strong commitment to cultural and language education.

With such notable success across academics and language proficiency, Farmington's seniors are stepping into the future with confidence and momentum.

No child should go hungry during the summer! From June 2 to July 23, the Davis School District is offering free weekday lunches (Monday–Thursday) for all children ages 1–18 at 15 locations through the Seamless Summer Lunch Program.
