Registration Opens for Bountiful Rotary’s 2025 ‘Coats for Kids’ Car Show

Bountiful, UT – Car enthusiasts and community supporters can now register for the highly anticipated Bountiful Rotary Coats for Kids Car Show, set for June 13-14, 2025. This annual event helps provide winter coats for children in need while showcasing classic and custom vehicles.

This year, the registration process has moved online, offering a more streamlined experience for participants. While the system is still being refined, organizers encourage patience and are available to assist with any issues. Those interested can register at bountifulrotary.com.

Teen Battling Cancer Receives Dream ATV from Make-A-Wish and Young Powersports

Make-A-Wish Utah and Young Powersports teamed up to surprise 17-year-old Gavin, who has been battling cancer, with a 2024 Suzuki Kingquad ATV. The Centerville dealership hosted the event, where Gavin was welcomed by family and friends before receiving his new ride, along with full off-road gear. The ATV will allow Gavin to explore trails near his family’s land in Duchesne, fulfilling a long-awaited dream. The moment was made possible by Make-A-Wish volunteers and the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation, highlighting the power of community and generosity.

🏀 Bountiful Boys Basketball Wraps Up Season with Region Title and 20 Wins

The Bountiful Redhawks boys basketball team ended their season with a 74-53 loss to Highland in the 5A state quarterfinals. Despite the defeat, they finished with a strong 20-5 record, claiming a Region 5 title. Bountiful struggled against Highland’s efficient shooting, falling behind early and unable to recover. The Redhawks previously advanced by defeating Woods Cross in the second round. This season marked the program’s best win total in a decade, and key players will return to lead the team in the upcoming 2025–26 season.

Gov. Cox, Lawmakers Announce Teacher Salary Boosts Amid Criticism

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox and Republican lawmakers announced a $1,446 salary increase for teachers and a $1,000 bonus for education support staff, along with $178 million to raise school employee salaries. Leaders praised the investment, citing Utah’s high starting teacher pay. However, the Utah Education Association criticized the move, arguing that classrooms remain overcrowded, workloads are unsustainable, and lawmakers are taking credit for policies educators fought for. State officials defended their efforts, saying they’ve significantly increased teacher compensation over the years.

Saturn's rings will disappear from view for a short time as we observe them edge-on from Earth!

 March 29 | Partial Solar Eclipse

The Moon will cover up to 93% of the Sun at its peak!

This eclipse will last nearly four hours, starting at 4:51 AM EDT, and will be visible from parts of the Americas, Europe, and Africa.

 April 22 | Lyrid Meteor Shower

A dazzling meteor shower producing 10-15 meteors per hour!

Since the radiant rises before midnight, try spotting meteors before the fat crescent Moon rises after midnight.

April 25 | Triple Conjunction – A Smiley Face in the Sky

The waning crescent Moon will align with Venus and Saturn, forming an enchanting "smiley face" in the sky!
