Help Farmington Spread Holiday Cheer Through Clothing Drive and Volunteering

The Farmington community is rallying together to collect clean, gently used clothing for individuals in need this holiday season. Donations are being accepted now through December 12 at 897 N. Browning Place in Farmington. The drive welcomes all sizes, from infant to adult, though there is a particular need for teen boys' and men's clothing. However, socks, underwear, and swimsuits cannot be accepted.

Volunteers are also encouraged to join a "sorting party" on Thursday to help organize the collected items. Those interested can sign up here!

This effort supports Family Community Christmas, ensuring donated clothing reaches those in need during the festive season. For questions or more information, contact Amy at 801-698-6606.

NSL Food Pantry Seeking Key Donations This Holiday Season

The City of North Salt Lake is encouraging residents to support the local NSL Food Pantry by donating essential grocery items during the holiday season. The pantry currently has a pressing need for flour, sugar, oil, canned milk, nuts for baking, rice, and pasta. Contributions can be dropped off at City Hall throughout December or directly at the pantry, located at 74 South Orchard Drive in North Salt Lake. For those who prefer a digital option, donations can also be made via Venmo. More details about the pantry and its mission are available on their website. Let’s come together to make a difference!

West Bountiful Invites Residents to Participate in Elf Tree Giving

West Bountiful City is inviting residents to spread some holiday cheer by participating in this year’s Elf Tree program. The initiative, aimed at helping those in need during the festive season, allows community members to “adopt” an elf and fulfill their holiday wishes. Those interested can pick up an elf tag today at City Hall, located at 550 North 800 West. This is a meaningful opportunity to give back and make the holidays brighter for someone in the community.

🍴 Recipe of the Week: Peppermint Hot Chocolate ☕❄️

Warm up this holiday season with a rich and creamy Peppermint Hot Chocolate! Perfect for cozy nights by the fire or as a sweet treat after building a snowman.

📝 Ingredients:

• 2 cups whole milk (or dairy-free alternative)

• 1/2 cup heavy cream

• 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

• 1/3 cup white chocolate chips

• 1/4 tsp peppermint extract

• Whipped cream, crushed candy canes, and chocolate shavings for topping

☕ Instructions:

1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk and cream. Heat until just warm (don’t boil).

2. Stir in the semisweet and white chocolate chips until melted and smooth.

3. Remove from heat and mix in the peppermint extract.

4. Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream, crushed candy canes, and chocolate shavings. Enjoy!

The highly anticipated holiday light display in Bountiful will run nightly through the Christmas season, featuring new attractions, a walkthrough option, and a scavenger hunt. Santa will visit on December 14th, offering treats and free photo opportunities. Donations collected during the event will support Tyler Hobert, a local resident battling leukemia, and his family. Young Voices Shine in 20th Annual MLK Speech Contest

The Davis School District proudly celebrated the 20th anniversary of its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Speech Contest, showcasing the exceptional talents of K-12 students who paid tribute to Dr. King’s legacy. This meaningful event invited young participants to present excerpts from Dr. King's iconic speeches, demonstrating their understanding and passion for his message of unity and equality.
