Bountiful Family's 30-Year Christmas Light Tradition Shines Bright in 2024
For over three decades, the Wheelwright family of Bountiful has enchanted their community with an elaborate Christmas light display. Initiated in the late 1980s by the family patriarch, the tradition features 45,000 lights, a snow globe, and a 10-foot snowman. In 2012, upon his father's retirement from the project, Ryan Wheelwright and his wife, Tish, transported the decorations from California to Utah, adding their personal touches to the exhibit. The display operates nightly from 5:30 to 10 p.m. until the first week of January. On December 14, Santa will visit from 6 to 8 p.m. to distribute treats. Visitors are also encouraged to donate to a family friend battling cancer.

Bountiful Resident Saves Little Free Library with Timely Repair
A heartwarming act of community spirit has restored a beloved Little Free Library on Bountiful Main Street. Local resident Alex Densley stepped in to repair the library's water-damaged wood insert after a post highlighted the need for attention. Upon removing the old panel, Densley discovered significant mold, underscoring the urgency of the repair.
Thanks to his efforts, the library now features an improved design better suited to withstand wet winter conditions. The library has been restocked with books and is ready for the community to enjoy once again.
The libraryβs steward, who has maintained it for six years, is inviting contributions to cover the costs of materials and to thank Alex for his time and dedication. Amid her own challenges, including unexpected vehicle repairs and a broken furnace, she appreciates the outpouring of support from neighbors eager to help maintain this shared community resource.
The Little Free Library remains a treasure for Bountiful residents, offering books for all to take or share without obligation. This seasonal gesture of goodwill showcases the spirit of generosity that defines the town.
