🍂 HAPPY THANKSGIVING! 🍂

Ah, Thanksgiving! It's that cozy time of year when Americans gather around the dinner table, a scene of festive harmony with just a hint of playful debate over the menu. The star of the show? The turkey, of course! About 32% of U.S. adults who celebrate Thanksgiving say it's their favorite dish. But it's not just about the bird. The supporting cast includes stuffing or dressing, mashed potatoes, and the age-old question: dark meat or white meat?

And then there's the sweet side of things. Pumpkin pie reigns supreme as the crowd-pleaser, with pecan, apple, and sweet potato pies also getting their share of love. But let's talk about the sweet potatoes themselves - some folks adore them with marshmallows, while others prefer them plain. It's a sweet dilemma, indeed!

Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without cranberry sauce, whether it's the jellied kind from a can or lovingly made from scratch. And who's behind this feast? It turns out 34% of women and 19% of men take charge of the Thanksgiving cooking, bringing everyone together with their culinary magic.

So, as we gather to give thanks, it's the delightful mix of dishes and the warmth of shared traditions that make this holiday so special. After all, whether you're a fan of turkey, sides, or desserts, it's the gathering of loved ones and the joy of a shared meal that truly makes Thanksgiving a time to remember

Turning Grief into Action: Utah Mother Champions Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness

Laura Warburton, a Utah mother, founded "Live Hannah's Hope" to combat mental health stigma and suicide following the loss of her daughter Hannah to suicide. Hannah, a talented martial artist and academic achiever, struggled with depression and anxiety due to concussions. The nonprofit offers resources and the "resilience award" for high school seniors. Warburton also contributed to passing "Hannah's Bill" for suicide crisis line support and established The Wellness Center for treating post-concussive syndrome.

LDS Church Leads by Example in Water Conservation with New Landscape Pilot Program

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah has launched a landscape redesign initiative at several of its meetinghouses as part of a water conservation pilot program. This project involves modifying irrigation systems and introducing drought-resistant plants, aiming to significantly reduce water usage in response to the state's drought conditions. This effort reflects the Church's ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible water management.

Bountiful Girls' Basketball Shows Resilience and Skill in Close Contest with Lone Peak

In a hard-fought and closely contested game, the Bountiful girls' basketball team displayed remarkable tenacity and skill, despite a narrow 68-61 defeat to Lone Peak. The team's resilience shone as they rallied in the second half, outscoring Lone Peak in both the third and fourth quarters. Standout performances came from Milika Satuala, who led with 20 points, and Taylor Harvey, who added 18 points. This game, against the reigning 6A champions, highlighted the strong potential and fighting spirit of Bountiful's team as they prepare to welcome Morgan for their next game.
