Mark Your Calendar: West Bountiful’s Annual 5K and Heritage Event Nears
West Bountiful is gearing up for a vibrant celebration of its roots with the upcoming Founder’s Day 5K Fun Run and Community Celebration. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025, at West Bountiful Park, and promises a lively mix of activity and hometown pride.
Participants of all ages are invited to lace up their running shoes for the 5K fun run, a staple of the annual event that brings residents together in a show of fitness and festivity. Beyond the run, families and neighbors can enjoy a morning filled with entertainment, activities, and community connection — all set against the scenic backdrop of the local park.
Organized by the West Bountiful City Arts Council, the event celebrates the city's heritage and highlights the spirit that continues to shape this close-knit community

Davis County Launches Online Directory to Connect Residents with Local Services
Finding help in Davis County is now easier thanks to a new online tool introduced by the Davis County Health Department. The Davis Links Resource Directory, available at davislinks.org, allows users to search for local support services by entering a keyword and ZIP code.
The site offers access to a wide range of resources, including food, housing, healthcare, mental health, family support, and more. Many of the programs listed are free or low-cost, and the platform is designed to support residents of all ages.
The directory was launched in collaboration with service providers and community partners, aiming to make it simple and fast for residents to find the help they need close to home.

Rabies Risk Rising in Utah — Here’s What Utah Residents Should Know
As bat migration picks up with the changing seasons, the City of North Salt Lake is alerting area residents to a growing rabies risk. In Utah, bats are the primary carriers of the virus, which is nearly always fatal if not treated immediately after exposure.
Residents are advised to avoid any direct or indirect contact with bats, as even seemingly healthy ones can carry rabies. Pets should also be kept away from wildlife, especially during this active migration period.
Anyone who comes into contact with a bat — or finds a bat in a home, garage, or enclosed space — should seek medical attention right away. Rabies affects the brain and nervous system, making immediate treatment critical for survival.
For more information, the Davis County Health Department has released a detailed Rabies Communications & Resource Guide to help residents understand the risks and know what steps to take.

🏈 Woods Cross Runs Wild in First Win of the Season
On Friday, August 22, Woods Cross claimed a 35-23 nonregion victory over Cedar Valley, led by Viliami Tapa'atoutai’s three rushing touchdowns. The Wildcats pulled away in the second half with a strong running game and stout defense, securing their first win of the season.

🌿 Wellness Wednesday with Erin 🌿
Each week, our health & wellness goddess Erin from Soul Elevation Wellness shares some simple tips to help you feel calmer, stronger, and more balanced in body, mind, and spirit. 💫

If you’re feeling a little scattered, stressed, or simply in need of a reset—this is your sign to pause and reconnect with yourself.
This Week’s Tip: "Start with the Breath"
If you're new to meditation or feeling overwhelmed, begin with something simple and always accessible: your breath.
Close your eyes and take a slow, deep inhale through your nose… then exhale gently through your mouth.
Repeat this for just 60 seconds—focusing only on the sound and feeling of your breath.
🌬️ Why it works: This anchors you in the present moment, quiets mental chatter, and signals to your nervous system that you're safe.
You don’t need perfection. You just need presence. One breath at a time.
🌿 Guided Meditation
Step into stillness. Our meditation classes are designed to reduce anxiety and help you find clarity and peace within.
