From Classrooms to Crypts: Students Turn Mountain High into a Haunted Halloween Attraction
Mountain High School in Kaysville is brewing up something spooky just in time for Halloween. For months, students have been transforming the school into a full-fledged haunted attraction, taking charge of every detailโfrom construction and design to acting out eerie scenes in costume.
The event, dubbed Mountain Madness, invites brave visitors to explore a haunting experience like no other. From chilling walk-throughs to live student performances, this production is entirely student-led, showcasing the creativity and dedication of Mountain High's teens.
In addition to the frightful fun, attendees can enjoy a variety of classic concession stand treats, including hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, hot cocoa, and apple cider.
Mountain Madness runs October 30 and 31 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Mountain High School, located at 490 S 500 E in Kaysville. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults, while children 5 and under get in free. All proceeds support the schoolโs clubs and programs.
Whether you're looking for a scare or just some Halloween fun, this is one event you won't want to miss.

โDear Evan Hansenโ Opens in Utah, Bringing Spotlight to Teen Mental Health
Dear Evan Hansen is making its Utah debut at Pioneer Theatre Company, marking the first time a local company has staged the Tony Award-winning musical. The show, which centers on teen mental health and suicide, is particularly timely in Utah, where youth suicide rates are among the nationโs highest. Director Karen Azenberg partnered with the Utah School Mental Health Collaborative to ensure the show portrays mental health issues authentically. The collaborative provided guidance to the cast and is engaging with audiences throughout the run, offering mental health resources and participating in post-show discussions. Special student performances and a community panel aim to deepen the conversation around mental health in Utah.

Bountiful Rallies Past Olympus to Capture First 5A Title Since 2006
Bountiful High School won the 5A girls soccer state championship for the first time since 2006, defeating Olympus 2-1 after trailing at halftime. Belle Sorensen and Myka Page each recorded a goal and an assist to lead the comeback. The Redhawks, who had lost twice to Olympus in region play, turned the game around with strong second-half adjustments and defensive effort. This win capped off Sorensenโs senior year and cemented the pairโs legacy as a dominant duo.
