Fruit Heights Homeowners Sue Over Mudslide Damage, Blame City and Developers

Homeowners in Fruit Heights are suing the city, the state, and developers over mudslides that damaged their homes in 2021 and 2022. The lawsuits blame faulty hillside development and poor drainage planning. Residents say their homes remain at risk, and some have been forced to evacuate. The plaintiffs seek compensation for damages and disruption.

Bountiful Food Drive Collects Over 100,000 Pounds to Fight Hunger

The Bountiful Community Food Drive on March 15 collected over 100,000 pounds of food for the Bountiful Food Pantry, thanks to strong community support. Volunteers gathered and sorted donations efficiently, ensuring quick distribution to those in need. The event highlighted the community’s dedication to fighting food insecurity and reinforced the pantry’s crucial year-round mission.

⚾️ Bountiful and Viewmont Open Region 5 Baseball with Wins; Farmington Perfect in Preseason

Bountiful and Viewmont High Schools each earned wins in their Region 5 baseball openers, with Bountiful defeating Northridge 11-1 and Viewmont edging Box Elder 6-5. Farmington High also began its preseason strongly, securing victories over Corner Canyon and Riverton to go 2-0.

3,000 Fentanyl Pills Seized in Major Northern Utah Drug Bust

A northern Utah drug investigation led to the seizure of 3,000 fentanyl pills, heroin, methamphetamine, and a loaded firearm from a Layton home on March 14. One suspect was arrested following a month-long operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Authorities emphasized ongoing efforts to combat fentanyl distribution across the state.
