🏛️ Woods Cross Residents Get Their Say on Property Tax Proposal
Woods Cross City Council will hold its Truth in Taxation public hearing tonight as officials consider a proposed property tax increase to help fund the new City Hall and Hogan Park project. The proposal would increase the city tax rate and generate about $994,000 annually, with the owner of a $513,000 home paying about $182 more per year.
Tonight is residents' opportunity to learn more about the proposal and share their thoughts before the council makes its decision.
💧 Water Shutoff Planned Tuesday on 300 East
Bountiful City will temporarily shut off water service on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 9 AM to 3 PM for homes between Center Street and 100 North on 300 East. The planned outage is needed for a main water line disconnect, and affected residents should have already received a door hanger with details. The city recommends storing enough water ahead of time for drinking, cooking, and other household needs.
If you live in the affected area, plan ahead to avoid interruptions during the scheduled six-hour outage. 👉 See Post
🏒 New Hockey Shop Opens - Sets Grand Opening for Aug. 15 in Bountiful
Hockey players and families in South Davis have a new destination for gear. Pure Hockey, the nation's largest hockey equipment retailer, has opened its second Utah location at 420 W. 500 South, Suite B, in Bountiful and will celebrate its official Grand Opening on Saturday, Aug. 15, beginning at 9 AM. The first 100 customers in line will receive a promotional gift card valued between $25 and $500 (minimum purchase required) along with a free Pure Hockey T-shirt while supplies last. Shoppers will also have the chance to check out the newest 2026 hockey equipment ahead of the upcoming season.
With hockey continuing to grow in Utah, local players now have a dedicated shop close to home—and the grand opening offers a great opportunity to gear up before the fall season. 👉 Read More

Does your child love games and technology? In TaliTech’s upcoming Machine Learning Games with Scratch class, students will create their own interactive games while learning the basics of coding and artificial intelligence in a fun, hands-on environment.
