Lagoon Celebrates Revival of Carousel Candy Parlor Nearly Three Years After Fire

Lagoon Amusement Park has officially reopened its Carousel Candy Parlor, nearly three years after a fire destroyed the original building in 2021. The Davis Chamber of Commerce celebrated the milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The rebuilt candy shop restores a cherished tradition, blending nostalgic charm with modern updates.

South Jordan Honors Fallen Firefighter as Cause of Sudden Death Remains Unknown

Corban Summers, a 23-year veteran of the South Jordan Fire Department, died on duty after being found unresponsive at Station 61. The cause is believed to be a medical episode, though it remains unconfirmed. Summers, remembered for his positivity and dedication, is survived by his wife and four adult children. Local fire departments are providing support, and firefighters will honor him by wearing black badge bands for a month. Funeral plans are underway.

🎷 Swing Back in Time at BHS’s 20th Annual Fools for Jazz Celebration!

Bountiful High School is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Fools for Jazz, a swing dance event featuring live student and alumni jazz performances, a free dance lesson, themed contests, and food. The event takes place in the school’s old gym, transformed into a 1940s dance hall. Live music runs from 6–9 p.m., with a free dance lesson at 5:30 p.m. Tickets and table reservations are available at dsdgive.net.
