Solar Consumers to Receive More Rights and Protections in Utah

In light of rising fraud complaints within the solar industry, Utah is taking legislative steps to safeguard consumers. The proposed bill, spearheaded by Representative Colin Jack, introduces a mandatory seven-day cooling-off period after signing a contract for rooftop solar installations. It also ensures that consumers can receive a full refund within 10 days should they decide to cancel the agreement. To enforce compliance, the bill outlines fines for any violations. This move comes as a response to a series of grievances from homeowners who experienced less energy savings than promised, highlighting the need for stricter oversight in the burgeoning solar sector.

Cyber Attack Leaves Utah Medicaid Recipients Without Medication for a Week

Seven days since a digital security breach, individuals on Medicaid in Utah are encountering obstacles in obtaining their necessary prescriptions. The attack on the system has led to a breakdown in the verification process for prescriptions and insurance coverage, causing delays for those reliant on Medicaid. This incident underscores the importance of strengthening cybersecurity defenses within healthcare systems to safeguard patient data and maintain uninterrupted services.

πŸ€ BYU Stuns No. 7 Kansas in Historic Victory, Team Effort Shines

In a memorable NCAA basketball game, BYU managed a surprising victory over No. 7 Kansas with a score of 76-68. This win was notable for being BYU's first against Kansas since 1960 and their inaugural victory at the historic Phog Allen Fieldhouse. Key contributions came from Jaxson Robinson and Dallin Hall, each scoring 18 points, alongside a team effort that included significant points, rebounds, and assists from other players. The team's preparation, influenced by unique scheduling due to religious observances and a motivational pregame speech by the video director, played a crucial role. This victory, coming after a recent loss, showcased BYU's resilience and ability to compete at a high level within their new conference, the Big 12.
