π¨ Community Mourns After Teen's Deadly Fall from Power Pole
A 16-year-old boy died after falling 60 feet from a power pole in Fruit Heights, Utah. The teen climbed the high-voltage structure near a local trailhead and suffered fatal injuries after falling. Emergency crews responded quickly but were unable to save him. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the climb but have ruled out foul play. Power was temporarily shut off during the recovery. Community counseling support is being offered.

Local Neighbors Rally for Weekly Soup and Blanket Drive
Local residents are coming together for the Sunday Soup and Bountiful Blanket drive, aimed at helping people experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake City. Organizer Fox Les is collecting used blankets, coats, gloves, and beanies, with a drop-off box at Dickβs Market on Orchard Drive.
Donations of canned goods, noodles, beans, and vegetables are also needed to prepare hot soup, which volunteers hand out every Sunday morning. Community members can message Fox directly for additional drop-off options or to get involved in cooking and distribution.
The effort highlights Bountifulβs strong spirit of compassion as winter approaches.

Severe Geomagnetic Storm Brings Northern Lights to Southern Skies
A significant space weather event is unfolding as a powerful solar flare triggers a "severe" geomagnetic storm watch, creating rare opportunities to view the northern lights well beyond their usual range. Skywatchers across much of the United States are being treated to this extraordinary phenomenon, typically reserved for far northern latitudes.
The storm, caused by a massive burst of solar energy, is expected to intensify through tonight and into Wednesday night. As a result, the aurora borealis may become visible far south of its usual boundary, depending on local conditions such as cloud cover and light pollution.
For the best chance to catch the vibrant colors of the aurora, residents are encouraged to head away from city lights and face north, especially during the darkest hours of the evening. Those living in northern states will have the best odds of seeing the lights with the naked eye. However, viewers in more southern regions may still catch a glimpse using smartphone cameras with night mode enabled.
The current solar storm is one of the strongest in recent years, and its effects are being monitored closely by space weather agencies. The phenomenon not only provides a dazzling sky show but also highlights the powerful connection between solar activity and Earthβs magnetic field.

πΏ Wellness Wednesday with Erin πΏ

πΏ 3β2β1 Wind-Down (Better Sleep Tonight)
If your brain feels βonβ at bedtime, try this gentle evening reset:
3 β Write down three things you did well today (tiny wins count).
2 β Spend two minutes in slow breathing: inhale 4, exhale 6, repeat.
1 β Go one hour tech-free before bed (dim lights, warm tea, stretch or read).
Why it works: celebrating wins calms the inner critic, longer exhales cue your vagus nerve for rest, and a screen break lets melatonin do its job.
Short on time? Do one round of 4β6 breathing and jot a single win. Your nervous system will notice. π
