New Saltwater Aquarium Store Makes a Splash in North Salt Lake

For those who have ever dreamed of owning a saltwater aquarium or simply enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of marine life, a new local business is ready to help. Aquatic Dreams has officially opened its newest location in North Salt Lake, offering a wide range of saltwater fish, vibrant corals, and high-quality aquarium supplies.

The grand opening celebration took place on March 8, welcoming aquarium enthusiasts and curious visitors alike to explore the shop’s offerings. Located at 175 Riverbend Way, North Salt Lake City, UT 84054, the store provides everything needed to create and maintain a stunning saltwater aquarium, from beginner-friendly setups to advanced reef-keeping equipment.

Utah's Lagoon Park Is Saying Goodbye to Its Zoo

Lagoon amusement park is gradually shutting down its long-standing zoo attraction, with some of the animals already being relocated. The park, located in Farmington, Utah, has confirmed that its collection of big cats, including tigers and lions, has been moved to accredited wildlife sanctuaries. This decision aligns with a broader effort to phase out the animal exhibits, though no official timeline has been set for the full closure.

For years, Lagoon has housed various exotic animals as part of its Wild Kingdom Train ride, a feature that allowed visitors to see animals up close while riding through the park. However, concerns about animal welfare and changing industry standards have influenced the decision to move away from maintaining a zoo.

Park officials stated that the remaining animals, which include other smaller species, will also be rehomed in the future. They are working with wildlife organizations to ensure all relocations meet proper care and habitat standards.

While Lagoon has not provided details about what will replace the zoo area, the change reflects a growing trend among amusement parks to shift focus away from live animal exhibits in favor of new attractions.

Davis High School’s boys’ basketball team clinched the Class 6A state championship after a stellar season. Their final game was a hard-fought battle, with key performances and strong teamwork leading to victory. The team’s defense and strategy helped secure the title, solidifying their status as a dominant force in Utah high school basketball. The Moon will cover up to 93% of the Sun at its peak!

This eclipse will last nearly four hours, starting at 4:51 AM EDT, and will be visible from parts of the Americas, Europe, and Africa.

 April 22 | Lyrid Meteor Shower

A dazzling meteor shower producing 10-15 meteors per hour!
