Davis Tech Unveils State-of-the-Art Fire Training Facility

Davis Technical College in Clearfield has unveiled its new Emergency Services Training Lab, enhancing the resources available for firefighter education. The facility features dynamic setups that provide realistic, scenario-based training for students. Local fire chiefs have praised the addition, noting that it significantly improves firefighter preparedness and skill development.

Bountiful Business Offers Easy Way to Support California Wildfire Victims

Today, local beverage hotspot Thirst Drinks is stepping up to support recovery efforts for California's devastating wildfires. Ethan Cisneros, the owner of the popular drink shop on 1545 S Main St in Bountiful, announced that 10% of all sales made on January 10th will be donated directly to aid wildfire recovery initiatives in the Golden State.

The initiative underscores Thirst Drinks' commitment to making a difference beyond its local community. Customers don’t need to take any extra steps—simply purchasing their favorite drinks or snacks will contribute to the relief fund.

The wildfires in California have left widespread destruction, and recovery efforts are ongoing. With this fundraiser, Thirst Drinks invites the Bountiful community to enjoy their menu while also showing support for a neighboring state in need.

North Salt Lake Hosts Hatch Park Redesign Open House

North Salt Lake City is inviting residents to participate in shaping the future of Hatch Park by attending a public open house on January 29th. This event will run from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at City Hall, located at 10 E Center Street. Attendees will have the opportunity to view design concepts for the park's revitalization, provide feedback, and interact with the designers and city staff leading the project.

The redesign aims to make Hatch Park a more dynamic and engaging space for the community, with improvements tailored to meet the needs and desires of residents. This open house marks an important step in ensuring the final plan aligns with public input.

Utah's Top Wrestlers Shine at 26th Annual Ross Brunson All-Star Duals

The 26th annual Ross Brunson All-Star Duals at Utah Valley University showcased over 120 of Utah's premier high school wrestlers. Highlights included a heavyweight bout between champions Travyn Boger and Kaydon Williams, and a 235-pound girls' match featuring undefeated Tilisa Matakaiongo against three-time champion Keilikki Nau Rarick. The event featured four teams per division, categorized by school classifications, and was streamed live by FloWrestling.

🎄 Farmington City Christmas Tree Pickup
Date: Saturday, January 11, 2025

Farmington City will collect Christmas trees on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Crews will make only one pass through neighborhoods. To ensure pickup, place your tree on the curb by 6:00 AM and follow these guidelines:

• Place trees near the sidewalk (not in a bag).

• Remove all stands, decorations, and lights.

• Trees over 8 feet must be cut into shorter lengths.

• Keep trees visible on top of snow for easy spotting.

• Flocked trees will not be accepted.

Dates: January 6–17, 2025

🎄 What to Do:

• Remove all lights and decorations.

• Lay your tree down flat (do not stand it up).

• Place it on your park strip or curb.

• Only natural (green waste) trees will be collected.

🚜 Note: Street crews will pick up trees as they go through routes, which may not align with your regular garbage day.
