Veterans Day Observance Set for Tuesday at Bountiful Memorial Park

On Tuesday, November 11, a special Veterans Day ceremony will be held at Bountiful Veterans Park to honor service members from Bountiful, Centerville, North Salt Lake, West Bountiful, and Woods Cross.

The event will take place at 7985 South Main Street and will include patriotic music, a flag presentation, and moments of reflection. Community members, veterans, and local officials are invited to attend and pay tribute to those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Hosted in the heart of Bountiful, the ceremony offers a meaningful opportunity for residents to come together in gratitude and remembrance.

🦃 Annie’s Café Serves Up Community and Kindness This Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, Annie’s Café is proving that the spirit of giving is alive and well in our community. Annie and her husband, David, longtime owners of the beloved local restaurant, are opening their doors — and their hearts — to anyone who could use a warm meal and a little company this holiday season.

“We want everyone to feel cared for and celebrated,” Annie shared. “Whether you’re a family facing hard times, a senior spending the day alone, or a young adult who doesn’t have a place to go, please come join us.”

The couple will be hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner at Annie’s Café on Wednesday, November 27 at 3:00 PM, featuring all the traditional favorites — turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, rolls, and homemade desserts.

No reservations are required, but Annie kindly asks that guests call the restaurant at 385-327-3737 to let them know they’re coming, so they can ensure there’s plenty for everyone.

“It would truly mean a lot to share this moment together as a community,” Annie said with gratitude. “We’re so thankful for the people who make this town feel like family.”

Utah Barbershop Gives Back, Donates Day's Earnings to Veteran Support Nonprofit

A barbershop in Pleasant Grove, Utah, dedicated a full day’s earnings to support veterans ahead of Veterans Day. Clean Cut Barbershop donated all proceeds to Continue Mission, a nonprofit that helps veterans heal through outdoor activities like hiking and group events.

The fundraiser wasn’t just about raising money—it was also a way to bring awareness to the struggles many veterans face after service. Customers came in for haircuts knowing their money would go toward helping former service members reconnect, recover, and rebuild their lives.

By turning a regular business day into a charitable effort, the barbershop demonstrated how small, local actions can make a big difference in the lives of those who served.

Orem, West Set for Semifinal Clash After Dominant Quarterfinal Wins

Orem powered its way into the 5A semifinals with a dominant 35-7 win over Woods Cross, continuing a remarkable eight-game winning streak. The Tigers wasted no time establishing control, as an early 30-yard touchdown strike set the tone in the opening quarter. The ground game soon took over, with two explosive touchdown runs extending Orem’s lead by halftime. Meanwhile, the defense held Woods Cross scoreless until a late fourth-quarter run prevented a shutout.

West also punched its ticket to the semifinals with a gritty 14-3 victory over Bountiful in a defense-heavy matchup. A pair of short touchdown passes gave the Panthers all the scoring they needed in the first half. Bountiful's only response came via a second-quarter field goal, and neither team found the end zone after halftime as both defenses locked in.

The stage is now set for a semifinal showdown at Rice-Eccles Stadium between Orem and West—two of the 5A classification's most formidable programs this season.
