🌟 Exciting Opportunities Await at Hill Aerospace Museum! 🌟
Greetings, Bountiful Buzz readers! Today, we're shining our spotlight on a truly remarkable local treasure and a chance for you to become part of its vibrant community. The Hill Aerospace Museum, at Hill Air Force Base, is not just a hub for history enthusiasts and aviation aficionados but also a beacon for community service and engagement.
🛩️ A New Horizon: The Expansion of Hill Aerospace Museum 🛩️
Under the dedicated leadership of Phil Butler, the Volunteer Program Manager, the museum is embarking on an exciting journey of expansion. With a brand-new display gallery sprawling over 91,000 square feet set to open by the end of next month, the museum is calling for enthusiastic individuals to join its volunteer team. This is a fantastic opportunity for residents from Lehi to Logan, especially those in the So. Davis County area, to contribute to preserving and presenting our rich aerospace heritage.
🌟 Why Volunteer? Your Chance to Make a Difference! 🌟
Volunteering at the Hill Aerospace Museum is an opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, contribute to your community, and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of aerospace. Here’s what you need to know:
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 or older.
- Experience Not Required: Whether you're a seasoned expert or new to the world of aircraft, museums, and military history, there’s a place for you. You don’t need to be a veteran to contribute!
- Flexible Shifts: Choose from 4-hour shifts starting at either 9 am or noon, Tuesday through Saturday. Just one shift per week can make a significant difference.
- Training Offered: While not mandatory, additional museum/docent training is available for those interested.
- Diverse Volunteer Roles: With teams ranging from Guest Services and Facilities Management to Education Outreach and Tour Guiding, there’s a role that matches your interests and skills.
A Personal Note from Phil Butler: "We don't need experts, we just need you to be nice." This sentiment underscores the museum's welcoming approach to volunteering - it’s about willingness to serve and the positive impact we can collectively make.
🌈 Be Part of Something Bigger 🌈
The Hill Aerospace Museum stands as a testament to our community’s history, innovation, and spirit of volunteerism. By joining the volunteer team, you're not just giving your time; you're enriching our community and ensuring the stories of aerospace triumphs continue to inspire future generations.

Kaysville Welcomes Innovative Sensory Gym for Children on the Autism Spectrum
Friends On The Spectrum, a novel sensory gym tailored for children with autism, has opened in Kaysville. Founded by MaShel West, inspired by her son's experiences, it serves as a community hub for families, promoting social skills and inclusion through specialized activities. This initiative addresses a critical gap in support, aiming to empower children and their families within a safe, engaging environment.

Discover Davis County's Indigenous Roots This April at Local Museums
April will see the Farmington Historical Museum, alongside other Davis County Museums, celebrating the indigenous history of the area. The museum will feature the story of Annie Rice Wilcox and the legacy of a Goshute/Shoshone princess, with a children's book on Wilcox's life being distributed to visitors. The initiative encourages community engagement by inviting the public to share relevant stories and artifacts, while a countywide indigenous sites map is available online for educational exploration.

Utah Baskin Robbins Fined for Child Labor Law Violations
Eight Utah Baskin Robbins locations were fined for violating child labor laws by allowing young workers to exceed permissible working hours, influenced by incorrect legal advice that suggested state laws were applicable over stricter federal standards.

🚨 Beware of Scammers Using Fake QR Codes to Steal Personal Info
In a recent KSL-TV report, viewers are advised on safeguarding against fraudulent QR codes, a burgeoning method by which scammers attempt to pilfer personal information and money. Cybersecurity expert Zulfikar Ramzan highlights the simplicity of creating a QR code, which can be misused to redirect unsuspecting individuals to malicious sites aimed at identity theft or financial fraud. He advises caution when scanning QR codes, suggesting verification of the source's credibility and opting for manual research over quick scans. Additionally, Ramzan warns against scanning QR codes appearing in unsolicited emails, texts, or public spaces without verification for tampering. To mitigate risks, he recommends the use of antivirus software on smartphones.
