โจ Why We Spotlight Local Businesses
At the Bountiful Buzz, we believe strong communities are built by supporting the amazing businesses right here at home. Shopping local keeps dollars in our community, creates local jobs, and helps our neighborhoods thrive. Our Local Spotlights are just one way we love helping you discover (and support!) the incredible businesses that make our area so special. ๐๐ ๐ Request a Spotlight

๐๏ธ Memorial Day Cleanup Scheduled at Bountiful Cemetery
Bountiful City Cemetery staff are asking families to remove all flowers and decorations by 6 AM on Wednesday, May 13, as crews prepare the grounds for Memorial Day. Decorations may be placed again starting at 8 AM on Thursday, May 21. Families planning Memorial Day visits should plan ahead to avoid losing personal decorations during the cemeteryโs annual cleanup process.

๐ถ New Dog Park Opens in Woods Cross
A big crowd turned out for the grand opening of Flash Cairo Dog Park in Woods Cross, a new community space honoring police K-9s Flash and Cairo. Animal Care of Davis County also shared free microchip resources and pet licensing information during the event. The park is now officially open to the public.
South Davis dog owners now have another local spot to gather, exercise pets, and support responsible pet safety through microchipping and licensing.

๐ก๏ธ Utah Heat Could Break Records This Week
Forecasters say Utah could see record-breaking temperatures this week, with some areas along the Wasatch Front nearing triple digits earlier than usual for May. Experts say shifting weather patterns tied to El Niรฑo and La Niรฑa cycles are contributing to the unusual warmth heading into summer.
South Davis residents may see higher cooling costs, increased wildfire concerns, and hotter afternoon conditions earlier than normal this season.

๐ฅ Bountiful Redhawks Advance in 5A Regionals
No. 12 Bountiful girls softball punched its ticket to the next round of the 5A Regionals with a 12-8 win over West Jordan, completing the series sweep. The Redhawks erased an early deficit with a huge six-run fourth inning. Peyton Orchard drove in two runs, while Dylan Carpenter picked up the win with four strikeouts. Bountiful keeps its postseason momentum rolling as the Redhawks continue a strong run in the 5A state tournament.

๐พ๐ Animal Wellness Tip: Dog Anxiety Awareness Week ๐๐พ
Just like people, dogs can experience anxiety โ and itโs more common than you might think. Loud noises, changes in routine, separation, or new environments can all cause stress for our pups.
This week is all about recognizing the signs and supporting our dogs so they feel safe, calm, and comfortable.
Here are a few things to watch for:
โข Excessive pacing or restlessness
โข Destructive behavior or scratching
โข Whining, barking, or clinginess
โข Changes in sleep or appetite
Ways to help:
โข Stick to a consistent routine
โข Provide comfort items or safe spaces
โข Regular exercise and mental stimulation
โข Routine care to help them feel clean and comfortable
At Scenthound Bountiful, they prioritize health โ not just haircuts โ and that includes helping create a positive, low-stress experience for every pup that walks through their doors.
If your dog experiences anxiety, Scenthound is here to help support their comfort every step of the way. ๐๐พ

โ๏ธ Sniff More, Stress Less ๐๐ถ
Did you know a simple โsniff walkโ can be more mentally enriching for your dog than a long power walk?
Dogs experience the world through their noses, and giving them time to stop, sniff, and explore helps provide:
โข Mental stimulation
โข Confidence building
โข Stress relief
โข A healthy outlet for natural instincts
The next time you head out for a walk, try slowing down and letting your dog take the lead for a few minutes (safely, of course ๐).
โจ Sometimes the best exercise isnโt about distance โ itโs about discovery.
Stop by Preppy Paws for enrichment ideas, training tools, and healthy treats that help keep your pup happy, balanced, and fulfilled!
