โœจ Why We Spotlight Local Businesses
At the Bountiful Buzz, we believe strong communities are built by supporting the amazing businesses right here at home. ๐Ÿ˜” Missing Man Found Dead in Farmington Canyon

Matthew Bodle, who was reported missing after being dropped off in Farmington Canyon with camping gear and a three-wheeler Tuesday of last week, was found deceased Friday following a two-night search by the Davis County Sheriffโ€™s Office. Crews used drones and air support to navigate difficult terrain after severe weather delayed search efforts. Officials say there is currently no indication of foul play.

Why It Matters: The tragedy highlights the dangers of changing weather and rugged conditions in nearby canyon areas, even for experienced outdoor visitors.

๐Ÿ Lost Tortoise Reunited in Bountiful

The Quick Summary: A wandering tortoise sparked plenty of curiosity after being found hiding under a truck in a Bountiful neighborhood. Animal Care of Davis County stepped in to care for the oversized escape artist in a cozy barn pen while staff worked to track down the owner โ€” and the story got a happy ending when the tortoise was reunited with its family.

Why It Matters: Itโ€™s a fun reminder that local animal services help with more than just cats and dogs โ€” and that South Davis neighbors are quick to help a lost pet get home.

๐ŸŒฑ The WELL Market Coming to Bountiful

A new community market is coming to Bountiful on May 30, bringing local vendors, fresh produce, handmade goods, and plenty of feel-good community vibes to the Davis Recovery Club. Residents are invited to stop by from 8 AM to 2 PM to shop local, support small businesses, and connect with neighbors.

Why It Matters: The WELL Market gives South Davis locals another fun way to support small businesses and build stronger community connections close to home.

Want to join as a vendor? Booth spaces are available for $50. Whether youโ€™re shopping, supporting, or setting up a booth, organizers say everyone is welcome.

๐Ÿ“ฒ Contact Becky at 801-427-2197 to reserve your spot.

๐Ÿด Utah Food Festival Returns in May

The third-annual Utah Food Festival is happening May 16โ€“17 at the Natural History Museum of Utah, featuring free samples, local food vendors, workshops, and interactive activities celebrating Utahโ€™s food culture. Guests can explore dozens of local makers and attend hands-on classes covering everything from caramel apples to cooking with wild plants.

Why It Matters: While itโ€™s outside South Davis County, the festival spotlights Utah-based businesses and offers a fun weekend outing for local food lovers and families.

โšฝ๏ธ Farmington Battles Hard in Region 1 Showdown

Farmington pushed hard against rival Davis on Friday night but came up short in a 3-1 loss in a matchup that decided the Region 1 boys soccer title. The Phoenix created strong late-game pressure and scoring chances, including a penalty kick goal from Jack Burrup, but couldnโ€™t close the gap against the defending region champs.

Why It Matters: Even in the loss, Farmington showed resilience against one of the stateโ€™s top programs as the Phoenix prepare for the postseason.
