New Mountain Biking Trail Opens in Mueller Park Canyon

A brand-new mountain biking trail, known for now as Trail 305, has officially opened in Mueller Park Canyon. This trail is designed exclusively for downhill biking, offering a safer, more enjoyable experience by separating faster-moving cyclists from uphill trail users. Located near the iconic Rock in the canyon, Trail 305 promises to alleviate congestion and reduce the risk of accidents on the popular Mueller Park Trail. The official name of the trail will be revealed soon, adding to the excitement of this new addition for local mountain biking enthusiasts.

Bountiful Appliance Store's Sudden Bankruptcy Shocks Community

Duerden's Appliance, a longtime Bountiful business, abruptly shut down and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, leaving both employees and customers in shock. Many customers, like the Holbrooks, spent tens of thousands of dollars on appliances but never received them. The company's $7.5 million debt, with over $8 million in appliance inventory, raises concerns about recovering lost funds. Employees were suddenly terminated, with no warning, while customers scramble to dispute payments or reclaim their purchases, fearing financial losses.

Frozen Waffles Recalled for Listeria Risk: Check Your Freezer

A recall has been issued for frozen waffles sold under various brands, including Kodiak Cakes, due to possible listeria contamination. The affected products, distributed across the U.S. and Canada, were produced by TreeHouse Foods and sold at major retailers like Target, Walmart, and Publix. Consumers are advised to check for recalled items and either discard them or return them for a refund. Although no illnesses have been reported, listeria can cause serious infections, particularly in vulnerable populations like pregnant women and older adults.

🍁 Recipe of the Week: Maple Glazed Roasted Vegetables 🥕🍠

Embrace the fall harvest with this delicious and simple side dish—**Maple Glazed Roasted Vegetables**! Perfect for any meal, this dish brings together the sweetness of maple syrup with the rich flavors of root vegetables.

📝 Ingredients:

- 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 sweet potato, peeled and diced
- 1 small butternut squash, peeled and cubed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- Salt, pepper, and thyme to taste

🍲 Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Toss the vegetables in olive oil, salt, pepper, and thyme.
3. Spread evenly on a baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes, until tender.
4. Drizzle the maple syrup over the vegetables, toss gently, and roast for another 5 minutes.
5. Serve warm and enjoy!

💡 Tip: Try adding a sprinkle of toasted pecans for an extra crunch and flavor boost!

🍂 Quick Cooking Tip: How to Caramelize Your Veggies Like a Pro

To get perfectly caramelized vegetables, here’s the trick: spread them out on the baking sheet! Overcrowded veggies will steam rather than roast, so give them some space to get crispy and caramelized. 🌟

That’s it for this week—get your fall cooking on! 🍂🥘
