Local Author Inspires Kindergarteners with Message of Uniqueness
Kindergarten students at Adams Elementary in the Davis School District enjoyed a special visit from local author Jonathan Aubrey. Aubrey, who lives with Cerebral Palsy, shared his inspiring book "Am I Different," encouraging the young audience to embrace their individuality and celebrate what makes them unique.
The children were captivated as Aubrey read from his book and shared his personal journey, reminding them that being different is something to be proud of. In a memorable moment, he surprised the students by showing them he can ride a bike, defying expectations.
Thanks to the generosity of Jacque Price, each student was gifted a copy of "Am I Different." Price, a strong advocate for community support, wanted to ensure the children took home a message of acceptance and empowerment.

400 West Closure: Road Work to Shut Down Area Near Railroad Tracks Today
The City of North Salt Lake has announced a temporary road closure as part of the ongoing 400 West Project. Today, October 4, 2024, there will be a hard closure at the railroad tracks from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 1:00 p.m. to allow for essential road work. During this time, all traffic will be required to take a detour.

Federal Rule Changes Lead to Loud Train Horns Across the Wasatch Front
Residents along the Wasatch Front have noticed an increase in train horn noise due to a recent change in federal regulations. Previously designated quiet zones, where train operators weren't required to sound their horns, now fail to meet updated safety standards set by the Federal Railroad Administration. Cities from Ogden to Provo must update crossings with better signage, curbing, and striping to reinstate these quiet zones. Until these safety upgrades are complete, train horns will continue to sound frequently, much to the frustration of local communities.
