St. Olaf Catholic School Seeks Donations for Annual Silent Auction & Gala

St. Olaf Catholic School is preparing for its biggest fundraising event of the year—the Annual Silent Auction and Gala—set to take place on April 26, 2025. The event, which serves as the school’s primary fundraiser, helps support daily operations and provides tuition scholarships for students in need.

Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with dining, dancing, and entertainment, all while bidding on a variety of auction items donated by local businesses and community members. This year’s auction will also feature online bidding through Auction Frogs, allowing supporters to participate remotely.

👉 The school is currently seeking donations from businesses and individuals who can contribute products, services, or experiences to be auctioned off. Organizers encourage those interested to reach out via social media or check the official donation letter for details.

Community support plays a vital role in ensuring the success of the event, which directly benefits students and enhances educational opportunities at St. Olaf. Those wishing to contribute or participate in the auction are encouraged to get involved as the countdown to the gala begins.

North Salt Lake Encourages Residents to Speak Up on Train Horn Rules

Residents of North Salt Lake and Salt Lake City are being encouraged to participate in the public comment process regarding the joint quiet zone waiver request. The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has assigned a new docket number to the request and extended the public comment period until March 17.

City officials are urging community members to submit their feedback on the matter, which affects train horn regulations in designated quiet zones. Public input will play a key role in the FRA’s decision-making process.

Residents can share their comments by visiting the official government website: Regulations.gov.

Overturned Truck on Legacy Parkway Traps Driver for Hours

A man was seriously injured after crashing his truck on Legacy Parkway in Farmington early Monday morning. The vehicle overturned, trapping him inside for several hours before emergency crews could rescue him. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and officials are investigating the cause of the crash..

Layton Driver Narrowly Escapes as Car Pushed Onto Train Tracks

A driver in Layton had a close call Monday afternoon when their vehicle was forced onto train tracks, moments before an oncoming train arrived. The incident occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Gentile Street around 3 p.m.

According to authorities, the driver was involved in a crash with another vehicle, which caused their car to be pushed onto the tracks. Fortunately, the driver managed to get out of the vehicle just before the train reached the intersection. The train then collided with the unoccupied car, dragging it a short distance before coming to a stop.

Emergency crews responded quickly, and no injuries were reported. Traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted as officials cleared the scene. Investigators are reviewing the crash to determine what led to the initial collision
